I watch clips like this and I cry. No the past wasn’t perfect, but damn sometimes...sometimes it seems way better than the present. I’m so sad I missed it.
@newstart2009 Any sugestions for me to help keep video up ? I am very new to youtube. I enjoy it a great amount since i can not afford cable TV. I have watched so much I feel I should share what little I have to the table. This may sound strange, but this really was first time as an adult of seeing Ella Fitzgerald perform. I know I've lived a sheltered life, but after seeing this duet I have not been able to get enough of the Great Ella. TYVM for sharing what you have & thanks for the help.
@jduborygun the only suggestion is stay under the radar and pray the copyright holders don't notice lol..... My first time seeing Ella was in 1973 on TV and I was 2. It was the Boston Pops...that is why i am trying to find the performances. It is special to me... I eventually saw Ella live in 1986...sadly it was the only time.. But what an amazing performer.
I posted this and the beginning segment on my channel, but in private for fear the video might be taken down.... I'm glad to see it in public.. I hope it stays up a long time.
@jduborygun me too.. i wish all her duets could go up... it's such a witch hunt with copyright blah ..... I remember what youtube was like before google bought it. I'm still going nuts looking for all the Boston Pops appearances .. I have the Edinburgh Concert from 81 to post yet.. but that's later this month
I would have loved to see Frank Sinatra and Flip do a number like how he Frank and Sammy Davis Jr. did. Wished Flip was one of the Rat Pack members. I’m a fan of them and now a fan of Flip. I’m immigrated here AFTER they hit the peak of their career and were popular on TV. I discovered Flip here on RU-vid and can’t get enough. I have heard his name over time but didn’t know what exactly he did except he was a performer. He is quite the talented performer. Love his Geraldine character. I’m hunting everything Flip.
He fooled some people here into thinking he sang well. He did not have a singer's voice. That said, he was a wonderful, unique comedian. But on those cornball variety shows, a host was expected to sing and dance.
