Actually big butts came from Africa not from Beyonce, Quintanilla, or JLo and etc.. Hair dye originate in Europe. V shape faces started in Asia. Braids/ locked hair Africa. makeup goes back to ancient Egyptians. Extensions and wigs Europe Reconstructive surgery techniques were being carried out in India by 800 BC. Everything will still have today in the beauty world is influenced by Europe, Africa, India, and Asia.
If you mean V shaped as heart shaped faces, they are most common in white Europeans (especially Slavic countries), modern East Asians want them, because they want to emulate eurocentric beauty.
Iris Chacón is from the late 60's and stayed in the public eye until the early 90's. Selena wasn't even born when Chacón started shaking her "culantro", if you know what I mean. ;)
Alma Guillot black people.. whether they are Latino culture, The US culture, the African continent. or Brazil culture. BLACK people regatles of country or culture have been celebrating women's curve. btw, Without Black people.. Latino will not have Salsa, Bajatta, or rythem. Go to Spain and see how the "true Spanish women look"
That's cuz Kim's shit is fake. Look up Kim and Paris Hilton, Kim's butt was flat as a pancake back then when she was following Paris around & taking notes on how to become a celebrity by making a sex tape.
I hate when people say that butts like Nikki's and Kim's are beautiful and amazing because simply put, they look completely unnatural and unattractive to me. It's not just about the size, and I hope that this silly trend doesn't distort what ladies think an attractive ass should look like. For example, smaller asses that are natural and fit can be just as or even more attractive than one that is bigger. I'm not saying that natural big butts are in general gross, but when you feel like you need to blow your ass up like a damn balloon with surgeries and injections or whatever the hell they are doing now a days, just know that it's completely unnecessary and plenty of guys don't like it. Stay healthy, be fit, and your body will be just the way it is supposed to be.
Agreed! Really what is best is to do what works for you...a huge butt just won't work on some people! I am tired of reading comments about people saying someone's butt is 'too flat' when it's totally fine lol. Really, just do what works for you and make the best of what you have.
***** Let's see... typing in all caps, you used SMH like a fucking goober... i'm guessing you probably don't read much at all in general... so probably not.
Why did Ellen invite them to be on the show if she doesn't like them ( like everyone else is talking about )? I felt that Ellen had the same vibe when she had Wendy Williams on her show too.
The "I Like Big Butts" fad didn't start with Beyonce or JLo; it actually started with 'Sir Mix-A-Lot in the early 90s.' That's really where all of it started.
D Rock That's exactly what I'm sitting here saying. The *VERY FIRST* Booties Era started back in the late 90s with Wrecks-N-Effect's "Rump Shaker" and Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back", then it died and faded off a bit as Tupac and Biggie rose up, then Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, then Puffy (Diddy, whatever) and Mase, then Jay-Z. Then it picked up again with "Bootylicious" and J Lo. Asses are literally just coming full circle again as many things do in the Hip Hop culture, the urban inner city culture, and among minority communities. The throwbacks always make a comeback.
Patrisha Singh I think you might be talking about WOMEN SHAPED LIKE J Lo. J Lo's popularity as a dancer on In Living Color wasn't even well-known yet in the early 90s. I don't even think she even was a dancer yet on In Living Color when Sir Mix-A-Lot made "Baby Got Back".
It is a thing but not because of the booty attention, but because thicker girls needed representation and feeling beautiful and sexy as well, and there are times in history when thicker girls have not been considered beautiful, and that's not fair because WE ARE GORGEOUS AS HELL. So seeing this beautiful woman representing our type of body is wonderful, because you get to understand you don't have to look nobody else to be beautiful.
+Kareem McKellar she looked like an average black women from Africa and because none of the white people in Europe ever seen it before they made fun of her and put her display... it started with black women!
By bringing all these girls is how you get to show Ellen's true colors! There are speculations that Ellen is a moody woman in real life, and that she only has a great charisma on the show.
I think she was more serious and confused here because she's lookin at all these women who are sexualizing physical appearance and joking about it and Ellen doesn't relate to that kind of humor. You have to realize she's much older than them and has made many episodes in the past making fun of these "trends".
what Tamera said about focusing on a woman's mind instead of body parts is so true. She speaks the most sense and meaningful words on this show. I look up to herXX
SassyJessy I know right! It's so annoying. Like sometime ago, there was that "skinny" obsession and anyone who was "fat" was considered not attractive, then it was something else...and now every is fixated in the butt. If a women doesn't look a certain way or there is not fat there, the woman isn't interesting...That's why I just don't give a crap about all this irritating stuff anymore...Like if someone isn't interested in me because a certain doesn't look a particular way, then they are just a waste of time! There is more to a person than there physical appearance.
I can't help but feel sad that the media is all about objectification of women. I love Ellen, but am disappointed with this topic. The whole video was about women talking about booties of women. It seems more like women are an object worth discussing rather than their talents and personality. Are women now objects or sentient beings?
Or maybe its a good thing that women can enjoy talking about their bodies as much as men talk about our bodies. And that we dont have to feel like dirty little sluts for doing it. Its not that serious
lol she is just feeding the stupid people watching tv, because she know what they want, why do you otherwise think she always put people from viral videoso n her show. MONAAY
We're in a world were we are criticized for our bodies. I know the history of Sara and how her body was used as entertainment purposes. However, this clip of Ellen and the cast of The Real was more so a "love for self" illustration. Yeah, the topic was centered around "butts", but there was nothing degrading about the clip.
it didn't come from Africa, that is ridiculous. it came from however the hell you were born. i'm white and I have hips and an ass. i'm not African lol. can people stop acting like having an ass or big lips is a black thing.
holly b but it is.. white women are known for thin lips and flat backs... and let's not get it twisted, you can have wide hips and still have a flat ass. Having a small waist with a big ass is the physique of a traditional black woman, and whats more aboriginal than a black woman?
holly b Are you serious?? Wow you are one white girl out of billions who claims to have lips and booty. No one on this thread said that other races can't have big booties, so your comment is stupid, what was said is that it started in Africa newsflash it did start in Africa whether you want to admit or not. There was a S. African woman by the name of Sarrtjee Baartman who has the largest natural buttocks ever recorded she was one of many women built with a larger posterior in her homeland. Everybody knows, INCLUDING YOU, that big booties are typcially synonmyous with BW.#realtalk you probably dont even a "big booty" anyway just a little more than others. So yeah please dont.....
Jerome Theseus a lot of women and transexuals my friends did it and my aunt too.....so yes dumb ass they did that back then especially in the early 90's....im 33 i was there when they did it ,thats how much you know about that....NEXT
I agree with Tamera. I have no problem with women being confident in their own skin and wanting to show off their beautiful bodies sometimes, but we have gotten to the point where music is about who's the most sexiest, not the actual music. We have gotten to the point where it's considered “feminism” when women take their clothes off and shake their booties everywhere, to prove to men that they can be sexual beings just as much as them. Nothing wrong with wanting to feel sexy and to be appreciated as a sexual being, but is that ALL you want people to know you as? You think women will be more respected if we keep feeding into the way men have been treating us all this time, that we are simply made for sexual purposes and our bodies are seen as objects? That we serve no other purpose in this world other than to be sexual beings and we use our bodies as “power”? That is NOT feminism and no one will ever convince me that it is.
How is she gong to say Beyonce before J Lo when J Lo surfaced in the early 90s. She inspired "Baby Got Back" before Beyonce was even known. Loni, please get your facts straight before saying false statements on national television.
I felt kinda bad for Ellen ! She was clearly overwhelmed by the fact that she was interviewing 5 other talk show hosts. She seemed to have trouble keeping up with them 😄
