There was no way to know she was just gonna let them go for sure as a father/mother you do what you believe is best even when it's not , You react instinctively in the face of danger where you would regularly talk and use logic..
Or the part where she's somehow maneuvering with a fucking rifle and shooting, despite being VERY pregnant. Her feet should hurt and she should be more fatigued at that stage...
Yes but unlike Joel, who did it from a place of his love towards her, Ellie did it from a place of hatred, towards Abby. That’s why Joel succeeded in doing it, and why Ellie not only fails miserably, but regrets even doing it in the first place once she realizes the scope of what she’s done
Yeah, that’s kinda the point. Almost everyone she killed was in self defense/they attacked first. that’s why the fight with abby is so different. abby doesn’t want to fight, she just wants to get lev out of there, and when she does fight it’s slow and sad. that’s why ellie doesn’t go through with it- there’s a difference of killing out of necessity and killing out of hate. (don’t get me wrong this story had so many problems but, this one was purposeful.)

Ellie really just handled 2 trained soldiers. Meanwhile she was trained by Joel and Uncle Tommy. Kinda shows how skilled and ruthless they really were.
Nah this was just bs plot armor lmao she John wicked both of them even tho a (my guess) 6 foot fit soldier should realistically over Power her gun Arm but he just gets manhandled and then the other women has a brain freeze consider she reacts like 30 seconds to late which is crazy long especially for a soldier pregnant or not Edit: it’s been 6 month now and I still get comments complaining because I call out lazy writing lmao

I know that some people say Ellie shouldn't have it, or maybe it was desserved. But no matter which side you take this was 110% Owen's fault, I actually despise him. He cheats on his wife for his ex girl, somewhat standard, then proceeds to try and defend her even though his wife wants Abby out of the picture, and then decides to spare her location from Ellie even though his PREGNANT WIFE is held at gunpoint. Mel should have just said, "Fuck this I'm leaving your ass" and could probably still lived.
It didn't learn a shit. Joel would have had the info. Ellie not only didn't have it, but she killed the ones she was interrogating before they could say something
@@jarvisfowlkes3200 I mean haven’t played the game , but as an outside observer maybe leading with the “She’s pregnant” and not antagonizing the assailant is a better idea than trying to strongman your way out and then tacking on a “She was pregnant” when it doesn’t matter anymore
@@silverfreedomsyeah what the fuck was the point in telling Ellie that the woman was pregnant? To make her feel bad? I think my problem with the plot in TLOU2 isn't that it's "revenge is bad" it's that everything feels tacked on to prove that point. Like, narratively, the only purpose this chick being pregnant serves is to further show Ellie that revenge was bad. But Ellie has no way of knowing, and was attacked first. Her killing them was 100% justifiable in this situation. So it's like the writers were like, "How do we show Ellie defending herself as a bad thing and as a lesson on revenge? Oh I know! The woman was pregnant the whole time!"
"Give her what she wants and were dead." He might have had a point there. She was out gunning for everyone who killed Joel. I'm surprised he wasn't able to rip that gun out of her hand since it looked like he got a good grip on it lol

It really was! How did these people survive so long when they have no clue how to handle these situations? I guess they relied too heavily on numbers. Not their decision making skills.
Owen should’ve been a bit smarter here since if Ellie had gone to the seraphite island to find Abby it would’ve been like searching for a needle in a haystack

Let’s be honest if the story had Abby get saved by Ellie when she was too weak to escape the infected at the start of part 2 and Abby killed Ellie in front of Joel hypothetically if they somehow knocked him down to force him to watch in an eye for an eye situation (unlikely I know) Joel would’ve killed everyone in that group without a hint of regret if it meant getting revenge on another militia group who killed his second daughter and that fight in the cinema where Abby overpowered Ellie would’ve been an example of dad strength the way he would’ve been whooping her ass lol
When you hit someone's father figure with a golf club until he died a painful death, you really shouldn't expect that she is going to even notice your bump, If they told her earlier this wouldn't have happened.
Give her what she wants and beg her to spare the unborn child vs try to overpower her and risk dying anyways. Guess the guy was really confident about being able to take the gun from her to not even try to agree to her demand. Well too bad he made a dumb choice.
Owen was a nice guy, as nice as any of the WLF anyway, but he got both of them killed. Smart play was to tell Ellie then go after her once Mel was safe and see if he could catch her before she got to Abby.
As much as I hate this game sequel, this scene is a bit conflicting. I can understand that you don't want your friend to die, but at the same time, she was gonna let you two go had you told her. To everyone saying those two are dumb/its not ellies fault: The point of this moment is not about fault, regardless of the blame of the whole situation Ellie stuck her knife in a pregnant woman’s neck, that will cause some serious mental damage no matter who’s fault it is. One of the biggest themes of the game is a back and forth revenge match. The message its trying to portray is that if you keep going for that revenge your only perpetuating violence that will lead to more violence while becoming a monster, that was the point of this scene.
Ellie didnt commit any revenge here. Its self defense. She has nothing to feel bad about. The only people responsible for those 2s deaths is themselves.
⚠️ SPOILER ⚠️ What I love so much about the whole story is it shows you what all this pent-up anger gets you if you take revenge. Abby killed Joel for killing her dad. Ellie chased down and killed everyone that meant something to Abby & in the end Dina broke up with Ellie because she couldn't let go of her crazy anger & still didn't kill Abby. Both main characters lost everything. 💔
@@evilcrusader6322 ok what?! Are u saying these fictional characters should somehow blame us!? Wait we had a choice in the narrative!? Is that how this narrative game works?!? I’m confused is there people out there that got a different ending?! @@evilcrusader6322I don’t think that logic really applies here. It’s true that there are many games where the player massacres hundreds during gameplay but we’re still meant to believe that the protagonist is a good person, and it’s largely understood that those enemies only exist to provide the gameplay and aren’t considered canon in the story. Best example of this is Nathan Drake in uncharted, he kills thousands during gameplay but during cutscenes he’s always the good guy. But I think in tlou, they wanted to make it clear that Joel is really just ruthless. Because even in cutscenes he has no mercy for those standing in his way. Even if you somehow manage to get through the gameplay without killing enemies, the cutscenes prove that Joel still has plenty of blood on his hands. Don’t get me wrong I love Joel and I understand he was just trying to survive and protect Ellie, but I really don’t think that naughty dog wants us to believe that he didn’t actually kill a bunch of people lol
