I don't know if anyone remembers I made a poll about a song for Ellie and this won. It also happened to be the one I was most inspired for so that'sa win-win. Now for the video itself, I wanted to hug Ellie while editing and I hope you will have the same reaction.She is one of my favorite female characters and I remembered why. If there isn't a photo of her next to 'strong' in the dictionary I will sue.

People expected Ellie to know her husband was sneaking out at night and meeting Danny but Danny's own parents didn't know their child was sneaking out to meet Joe. So if parents didn't know where their child was every minute how can you expect Ellie to know where her husband, an adult, was every minute?

The show was nominated for seven BAFTAs winning best drama, best actress, and best supporting actor. You don't know what underrated means. You discovering a show on Netflix years after everyone else doesn't make it underrated.

Ellie is one hell of a character played by one hell of an actress. I felt the music in this could have been quieter at points, but I still loved it. You put two things together that always break my heart, so consider me doubly heartbroken.^^

I agree the sound is a bit off in places. I did made it quiet, but it was a very difficult song to work on. Aand I actually rendered it twice but I didn't have the patience do to it again so I just hoped it'd be ok to hear. I am glad you still liked it. And if I made you heartbroken even better 😅 I agree with the beginning of your comment. Both Ellie and Olivia are amazing. Or 'brilliant' as Jodie would say.

I felt so sorry for Ellie. Especially after they discovered that her husband was Danny's killer... I can't imagine what it must have felt like for her to essentially have the whole freaking town stare at her, silently judging her for not knowing that her husband killed someone. as well as having her Best friend, suddenly turn her back on her. She's definitely a stronger woman than I am. I probably wouldn't have been able to put up with that if I were in her shoes.

Yeah and it doesn't matter how good of a cop she was, she was so close to it she wouldn't be able to see...I just can't believe they let her see him when she found out. They should have said no! Of course she was gonna react like any human and lose her shit on him. I almost want to rewatch it now, but I don't know if I can handle it again!

Am I the only person who disliked Beth for what horrible things she said to Ellie? I understand the characters pain but publicly shaming and blaming Ellie for all of it I wanted Ellie to slap her for.

No, you are definitely not the only one. I also understood Beth and why she couldn't trust Ellie anymore (I mean all the odds were against her, just by being Joe's wife). The Latimers already felt betrayed by Joe who was their friend. However, us viewers know the truth, that Ellie is innocent which makes it hard to watch how Beth acted towards her.

i've just started rewatching this show so it's super refreshing to see new vids for it. this one is absolutely stunning. ellie is so wonderful and deserves so much better and you captured her character gorgeously. well done and thank you

I am not sure whether you mean a good or bad change but, anyway, I think both are valid and that's why I chose the song. I saw it in some romantic videos but for me it's clear that it's about a woman who has been through a lot but came out changed but at the same time stronger, tougher and with more self love and that's Ellie in S3 after everything she'd been through.

@@TheSongIsEnding I find it funny that this often gets used as a romantic song but is truthfully about a woman who has been through a lot and would make different choices had she known what she knows now as the path she followed led her to not fully recognise herself anymore. The chorus is everything Miller was after she found out about Joe: she messy but she’s kind, she’s imperfect but she tries, she’s us hard on herself, she’s broken but won’t ask for help, she’s lonely most of the time. I guess it’s the song works well for Ellie in the way she maybe not as trusting as she once was And of course she wouldn’t have wished for this to ever happen to her and like life does things happen and change us for both the good and the bad.

1st season: Its about the murder of a young boy in a small town. Two police officers try to solve the murder. 2nd season: The trial of the person who killed the young boy and the effects it has on the people involved in it. 3rd season: Our two officers try to solve the mystery of a victim of sexual abuse and later find that the case isn't as simple as it first seemed. Loved the show, but I hated how the writers did EVERYTHING to make people act suspicious when no one was looking, or spend all this time on Red Herrings, and then anything to do with Joe was super normal and nothing to even make you suspect. It's just a cheesy way to build a mystery, and basically makes future viewings for me respect the show less than I did. Still a great show though.
