@@sonortubelug3853 settle down man. This dude does shit that jim black doesn't do. Jim black does stuff that Hoffman doesn't do. If every drummer did the exact same shit music would be incredibly annoying.
This reminds me of what audiences looked like in front of old Meshuggah. No idea what they're hearing but in 20 years time someone will comment on this video going "I WAS IN THAT AUDIENCE, IT CHANGED MY LIFE". When in actual fact they never looked at the band once during the set and were instead discussing with a friend how much they were looking forward to seeing Killswitch Engage or something like that.
every time I try to play car bomb material it feels like no human could keep it all together in their head and here's elliot hoffman looking so relaxed and IN CONTROL, truly incredible player
I already commented this to Greg, but I am so very proud of you guys. When I heard you guys at Mojo 13 five hundred years ago, bought Centralia, and had my eyes opened to musical concepts that were unfathomable to me at the time, I knew you were one of a kind. It warms my wee wittle heart to see you guys get a fraction of the recognition that you so greatly deserve, and to see you enjoy a stage fit for the kings that you are. I can't wait to see you all again if the day ever presents itself. Stay groovy, Mr. Hoff! I still love ya 😍
Elliot, this is some of the most beautiful drumming I've ever seen in my entire life! I almost lost my balance and fell off my chair because your playing made time seem to liquefy. This is incomprehensibly fluid, free flowing and smooth, especially considering how very complex it actually is. Truly beautiful and a genuine joy to watch and listen.
Lol every time I watch you play I'm mostly just shaking my head in disbelief... Absolutely love it. Stoked to see such a big crowd in front of y'all too.. Such a great drummer, band and what a great time to be alive. Thank you
I've been waiting for something like 10 years now for Elliott and Car Bomb to finally start getting the recognition they ABSOLUTELY deserve. These guys are on an entire new level... absolute brain MELTING stuff going on in their music and i LOVE it!
15 Years ago I stumbled upon M^6 on youtube. since then I bought at least one physical copy of all your albums and went to see you play twice. and here I'am. still finding myself with my mouth open, slightly shaking my head not comprehending how you guys manage to create something this intense. Its safe to say that I would not be who Iam musically if you werent around. thanks so much! xoxoxox
It’s not only the time signatures it’s the pushing and pulling of time! That’s absolute JAZZZZZZ incredible talent to move that to heavy music. Also amazing from the other guys two of course that guitar tone is insane!
The disrespect for time from this guy. It's like you have 4 brains working together, pleasure to watch. I've loved you guys since 06 when Centralia blew my 22 y.o. mind
Hey Elliot, quick question. Is there a reason the outro drum solo to Scattered Sprites is omitted when played live? I always liked it, but was wondering if it’s cut due to time or something else. Saw you with BTBAM in Santa Ana, CA this year and it was phenomenal btw. Really want to see you guys again
I saw you guys in manchester a few years ago supporting animals as leaders. Your set was so good that i actually had a mental breakdown and went home as soon as you finished 🤣🤣 WOOO
Carbomb without Mike is basically a modern drummer expo clinic. 😂😂🤣 Jesus Christ man you never cease to amaze me. Solidly my top 3 favorite drummers ever up there with Tony Royster and Dave Weckl. Also - was this a back line kit?
Car Bomb is not for everyone. Definitely not a band you can go out dancing to. Car Bomb is one of those bands that seems only to be appreciated by other musicians. Because we are the only one's who can understand it. Car Bomb is one of the most unique, most heavy bands on the planet. Nice to see them on a big stage.
How do you guys count from 3:31? seems like it's a simple rhythm you can keep up with by tapping you leg, but it feels as though the main taps are in between beats? I just tried and it just is different, please help.
@@elliotjhoffman On a serious note, I truly think you may be the most technically gifted drummer on this planet. I never ever seem to hear any mistakes with your timing. The finesse, accents. complexity and relaxed posture with your playing is unparalleled. Clearly Roland had you under surveillance when they designed the 808.
