What happens when two old friends and master musicians meet up for the first time in more than thirty years? I'll tell you what happens. Magic happens. I'm so pleased to have been there to witness this great show with Elliott, and this special song he and Jack (who happens to be my cousin!) performed together.

My wife and I were avid fans of Lima's rock clubs in the early '70s … especially Yogi's. Wonder if we ever heard Elliott play back then without realizing it. We were massive fans of Steely Dan and saw their headlining tour stop at the U. of Toledo's old Memorial Fieldhouse on Sunday April 21, 1974 (advance tickets for non-students were $4.50 at Chess King clothing stores). That night guitarist Jeff "Skunk" Baxter did an admirable job of duplicating Elliott's epic studio performance on their 1973 hit "Reelin' In the Years"( music geeks know that Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page has named it his favorite guitar performance on record). Long way of saying this video is going straight to my "Favorites" list. Thanks Libby.
