This is unfortunately the last song from this rehearsal I was holding on to. It would be nice if anyone else felt like sharing this guy's music. Every year that passes is more missed opportunity for celebration and proper recognition of Elliott's vast catalog, and every year I become more cynical that anything at all will ever happen to 95 percent of the stuff that's been sitting there for decades. In accordance with KRS, however, I'm pleased to announce this rehearsal will be available on 40 different shades of colored vinyl that will be then be re-released ad nauseam until the heat death of the universe. Fin.

Thank you again for uploading these, they are true gems. Is there anything you know that makes you think there is still a significant of unreleased material out there that is just sitting there?

Thanks so much. These definitely made my year. I'd love to know who he's speaking to during these, if you know.

He’s like a spiritual power and love that uses punk and rock to express itself. Light years ahead of anything else.

That's funny, I've been practicing this song for over a week now. Thank you so much, this is my favorite song of his. I also hope that with the passage of time more stuff will start surfacing.

Instead of "they took your life apart" it's "they took MY life apart" which confirms my suspicious he did that a few times - change the pronouns in a song to make them less about himself and more general

I also noticed that, in a lot of his songs Elliott talks in second person but actually means himself, or at least makes it seem like he does. I think it's a very smart move as it makes the song more vague and also genderless, which makes it easier for people to relate.

There are a couple interviews earlier in his career and the interviewers inevitably ask him about being a drug addict and writing all these heavy beautiful songs and you can see him noticeably tighten up, and give that ol' company line; you can write songs about subjects that you didn't experience first-hand. He said something to the effect of: ...A lot of the songs are just about people I see, you know, like what it would be like to walk a mile in their shoes... This of course translates to: _hey pal, I'm trying to get this career going, and it's actually getting to the point where I could really eat off my art, and you are SERIOUSLY donking things up with these questions... DONK DONK DONK!! SHEESH_

It's something a lot of people don't do today. Go on any original ameteuer song online and the lyrics are so self absorbed and specific to them. Even when elliott mentions himself in his songs it still feels like he trying to relate his own experiences to someone who could be feeling the same. There is no ego attached to it.

@@knuckle12356 there are tons of interviews where Elliott’s friends claim that he didn’t have any real hard drug problem until 1999/2000.

Does anyone remember the context of this song? In 1999 the ‘Forest Park Killer’ murdered five women, including one special enough to get a many-page article in the Rolling Stone (re: ‘Requiem for Tomorrow’) about Alex Ison aka Tomorrow, a beautiful young artist in Portland, who struggled with addiction & homelessness, but was well known & loved around town during her short 17yrs.. Everything about this song wrenched images of her into my heart, so I had to share & hope that someone with a good memory could help me find out if they might’ve known each other &/or if it was referencing her (obvz her Life, predates her end)

The irony of not being able to get the words right at the "the sound is coming out" part lol. This version is so meta.
