There’s all that controversy about firing Woody, **except** that he started coaching really weirdly last playoffs and continued to coach like Dave Tippett did here. It makes no sense. If he had continued looking really smart and coaching with the courage of his convictions, they might be winning more, and it would be less understandable to fire him. Nobody talks about this.

What a farce the Oiler Organization truly is. The Organization with a management Team built on NEPOTISM has had 11 coaches since Katz bought the Team in 2008. Is it possible the COACH is NOT the problem? Why does the media IGNORE what the GM has done (besides hire family members). Katz said he wanted to resurrect the history of winning the Organization had but you don't do it by hiring family, friends, ex-players and associates. For a team that has enjoyed so many high draft picks (reward for failure) they have squandered them away. Maybe the formula their using is wrong. It must be a touchy subject, no one dares to talk about it.

Looking back on it now, as irritated as I was that they crapped on Woody, I think in the end, they actually did him a favour. They didn't let him tarnish his prestigious record too much, before cutting him free. Only a 6 losing game differential, and they were like, "Woody, buddy, you're too good for this team. We don't wanna see you ruin your amazing record any more with this plug of a roster, that this fossil of a GM has butchered together. You're fired. You're welcome, pal."
