That I witnessed first hand. I do, however, still respect his drive and success, I just wish he wasn't so self-serving about it. We, from what I have heard and researched, will not be able to be completely fossil free ever. Idk. Clean energy is where it's at. Nuclear energy is key, imo. Hoarding water??? A complete waste of time. All the water we’ve ever had on Earth is all the water we’re ever gonna have. It evaporates from the oceans, the clouds move over the land, and the vapor condenses into rain (snow, hail, etc), falls to the ground and makes its way back to the oceans. The molecular bond of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom (H2O-water) is one of the strongest that exists. It is chemically impossible to run out of water.

Prices are high because of logistics. Too many people want to live in big cities. If our population was not concentrated like this it would be easier to feed. A single traffic jam could affect New York’s food supply while more rural cities are easier to get to.

He's not wrong. Water desalination is relatively cheap, but fresh water delivery is currently cheaper, so when/ if that ever changes, then we'll start to do that more.

@ReadingRambo152 Fresh water access really depends on location and a bunch of other factors. It's hard to say what will happen over time. Most models, even 5 to 10 years out, end up wrong. But salt water desalination can have very little oceanic impact. Earth is 70% water. Tons of water evaporates every day naturally.

Clean drinkable water is constantly evaporating (capturable) condensating (capturable) and precipitating (capturable) from various surfaces around the planet. This doesn't include the larger web of snowmelt, surface water, ground water recharge, aquifer storage, and of course the 2/3 of the planet covered in salt water (treatable)

We have more resources now than at any point in history. People were hungry back in the day with a fraction of the amount of people we have now with higher rates of obesity now. Theres not a problem of a water shortage in other countrys. The government intervened and nationalized which makes resources more scarce.
