One of my daughters has Aspergers syndrome. Academic excellence but social disconnect. Very exciting on the one hand, very difficult on the other.

I honestly feel bad for people that get bullied for not being socially equipped compared to others in school who are really good socially. You don’t have to have Asperger’s to be bullied in school, or in the general population! Bullies are bullies, no matter who you are!

Why aren’t more people talking about how amazing it is that Elon Musk is so open about being on the spectrum and because of his openness, he’s allowed so many people to be proud of that aspect of themselves and know that it makes them very special. ❤

Pretty rough is an understatement. His bullies threw him down concrete steps and kicked his head in and put him in hospital.

I had a feeling he had ASD. Many intelligent people do. Albert Einstein, Elon Musk, Anthony Hopkins, etc.

My son has Asperges and I understand exactly where Elon is coming from, my son is very clever, but his social skills are not very good due to him taking everything literally. In saying that my son is a very clever lovely great man.

Being bullied can really destroy you later on for me I had became overly defensive and really protect and defend my friends and family at all costs

There are others that were bullied ,, so sad, but they flourished immensely,, and some like Elon are on the top of the world.

Incredibly tough growing up as an autistic person. It is not narcissism. All the failings with dealing with others are felt with the self. Have sympathy people. Suicide rate x 9 the average, life expectancy just 54 as a result.

And yet it belittles employees that work from home. Many autistic do better from home because there's less stimulation. It lacks empathy.

The childhood trauma and pain of actually thinking that what people say is what they mean.

Nobody is perfect on earth. Everyone has some or the other issues. How best can we use our negative traits to become successful and positive counts a lot.

I was raised by wolves. I STILL cannot fully communicate with regular people...but I try ❤

Glad you opened up about it, and able to be yourself. You helped a lot of people, and knowing that we’re not alone in that experience of being on the autism spectrum.

Maybe it was that also helped him become the great man he is because he is focused on what he wants... and just to remember, there is no man who is 100 perfect and even within that small imperfection he is a good man.

I think his autism was the one grounding humanizing thing about him. But rich man syndrome took over at some point. Autistic people are definitely bullied 100 x more at least then neurotypicals. Neurotypicals actually bond by gossiping, bullying, and excluding people. Neurodivergent people bond by hobbies and interests. It’s the reason I’ve learned to only be friends with neurodivergent people. Neurotypicals don’t accept people different from themselves on a deeper level. It’s just how they’re wired (to bully and exclude).

Complete alienation as a child. Couldn't relate to others & felt I didn't belong amongst the humans. Know that normal human existence is not an option for me

My son has Aspergers and he had a horrible time at school at the hands of the bullies but he is doing well now and loving life.

I admire his drive . Especially if he was bullied. Those people would really regret it now.

My son has high functioning autism and has been bullied for most of his life. He is now 16 yrs old. I keep telling him about Elon Musk and how he has Aspergers, but they don’t call it that anymore, and how successful he is. I keep telling our son, it is not a death sentence, but a superpower and he just has to figure out how to tap into it.

As someone with asperger syndrome i relate to him very much hes my inspiration. 😀

It is interesting to observe attachment styles and the variety of physical interaction methods. Some are contact sensitive with a "don't touch" (distance zones) sensitivity and others are "in touch" (skin contact) tactile interpretive types. All five (5) senses are used for interaction and interpretation of the outside (other) world. Each of us are different and some are unique (on scale) in their interpretation abilities. Some of us are wired differently. Trust and safety standards seem to be embedded in these personality traits. Miscommunication (miscoded) interaction bonding, can lend to psychological effects later. Self-sabotage (fear of success) harm to self or others (physical and/or emotional harm), or even overt exhibitionism of physical or psychological traits can be observed. Childhood and adult relationships are deeply affected by these various interaction and interpretation styles. Awareness is key to navigating adult relationships. In a way Elon was very lucky because of his mother. I'm in spectrum too, and i was bulled both by kids, some teachers and family. My parents even allowed their friends to insult me. Eventually I sorted it mostly on my own and even started working on my own, but I've done it my 40's. So much life wasted

Having children, enjoying them Can help you to Catch Up Time, that you missed out, as a Child. 🙏🙌🙏
