The disclaimer sounds like a cleanup job requested by Twitter because CNBC, NBC*, et al weren't the only companies shielded. The disclaimer tried to shield Twitter and any companies associated with Musk by stating that Musk's statements were his and his alone and they didn't represent Twitter, Tesla, etc. The disclaimer put Musk on an island.

I wonder if you would likely have a somewhat different opinion if you were a Twitter shareholder (Twitter has lost 50% of its ad revenue since Musk took over, and his handling of Twitter has ignored the fiduciary responsibility he owes them) _or_ if you were a former employee and now out of work (almost half of its workforce was slashed, again due to drop in revenue). As much as Musk has every right to say what _he_ likes, advertisers also have every right to place ads wherever _they_ want. And as far as being "blackmailed", Musk got that wrong. Blackmail is when you try to extort money or something of value from someone else. Could your local supermarket rightly accuse you of blackmailing them if you decided to boycott them? You've simply decided to take _your_ money elsewhere.
