You had me at "GET IN, HOLD ON, & SHUT UP!" I've been riding shotgun ever since. Don't regret a minute of it. Even liked going fishing with you. Love the scenery you see. Enjoyed always hearing you talk. Thank you Mike for being there.
You're rocking it out there Mountain man...one thing for sure the countries around the world will find out is they can do without politicians but truckers and trucking is vital to existence...we would be up the proverbial creek with you folks...Keep On Trucking...
As a Canadian, I appreciate your views on this Trucking situation we are now in. I hate masks, I am twice jabbed, and I am still forced with all these rules. I am 72 yrs young and an x truck driver Thumbs up on every vid you do brother. Drive safe like you always do
Mike. I'm a recent subscriber to your channel. I must say you have the most beautiful routs I've ever seen. Looking at those mountains never gets old. Really enjoy watching your videos and listening to your narrations. Thanks.
The Unsung Heroes : The North American Truckers ! The Good Truckers ! Because we know there are Good and Bad in every sector . But for the Good Truckers my Respect to you all !
July 2021 My wife and I rode this route on our Harley Ultra. Light drizzle and 50 degrees and snow on the sides of the road. I live in North Carolina and your channel brings back a lot of memories of my rides in Colorado. My dad was a trucker for most of his life ,my son and brother are truckers KEEP the Hammer down.
R Cook, I bet that was a beautiful trip! I would love to have a side car, put this fur kid in one, sun glasses and all and do what you did. I'm a native Colorado person and walked many days back and forth to school in Englewood in the snow storms,we would hold onto a fence all the way to know where the sidewalk is, the snow hitting your face with the wind blowing you over. Young and fun. Stay young.
Love Ridin' Shotgun with Mountain Man Mike! These videos are educational. entertaining and the scenery is magnificent! I also like the way you think. You stay safe and thanks for doing the road running. You and the other drivers are appreciated. Sweet Home Alabama is a damn good song. Neil Young and Joe Rogan should have a conversation, on or off the air.
Always enjoy listening to someone who believes in individual freedoms. Just baffles my mind when people tell me they should, through the government, be able to make me do something because they FEAR something. We’re not even free enough to get sick? They believe they are saving you? What a pompous attitude. Truth is they are afraid because some media outlet is selling fear. ITS PROFITABLE TO DO SO. Keep on trucking. This last 2 years have been more educational than my 4 years of college back in late 60s. And yes, decades of driving in snow “educates” you or you are taken out ( at least here in the U.P. of Michigan. Babbling now. Later.
I'm currently driving in the oil patch in Texas. Spot on commentary sir! Dialogue and debate are crucial to the democratic process and understanding one another. When did the skin get so thin? Much respect and support to our Canadian brothers/sisters holding the line. Safe journeys and good time to you!
Just found your channel and I think it’s great what you are doing! You are educating a lot of four wheelers on the way they should drive around a big truck. I almost “ popped the door and hopped out” when you gave that sarcastic rant about Canadian truckers haha. I completely agree with you too! Stay safe out there!
With all my drivers in Heaven, Daddy’O, brother’s, and my husband who was a Trucker, I am blessed to have you for my driver. Thank you for another scenic ride.❤️❤️❤️
The Freedom Trucker Convoy started their journey protesting mandatory jabs at the border, but it unexpectedly involved into a mass protest of a lot of Canadians against all mandates. They say a majority of truckers are already jabbed. Today there is a major police presence at the Coutts, Alberta/Montana border trying to shut down the blockade set up by another Freedom Trucker Convoy. Their attempt failed yesterday, so they are working on another plan. More small blockades are popping up in Alberta. Trudeau labelled these Truckers a "fringe minority" in an attempt to discredit them.
Loved the scenery on today's shotgun ride and you are 100% right on the topics today.... Great to listen to someone who suffers from CFS, I also suffer from the same thing. Peace and Love
Another beautiful drive. I love the mountain! I’ll live and die on my mountain side in the Smokies! I 100% support the truckers! Be safe out there MM Mike ! Freedom 🇺🇸
Love that glorious scenery! Beautiful! About masks, they only cut down on the number of dust particles that get through when you're blowing out the truck. So, how can they stop a virus, which is infinitely smaller than a dust particle? As you said, they can't.
Beautiful scenery. I'd love to see it in the different seasons, spring when the colors are bright, summer when everything is green and the snow is gone, and fall when the autumn colors are at their peak. Thanks !
Norman, go there in the Fall! Start in Idaho and head south through Flagstaff AZ. A Beautiful Drive. Bring plenty of film or sd cards and batteries 🏔️🏔️🤗🐕 Native Colorado.
love your calming beautiful videos last night we lost another old trucker in mn he dyed at 63 in his sleep.i drove at same company with him in the 80s he dyed thursday night.I used to get a kick out of him he loved to armwrestle and he was a beast he would take time off work and challenge people for money and he would always win gonna miss him.he dyed from a liver failure he might have been hurting him for awhile but never said anything and it got him.he had just bought 10 acres in the woods up north and was raising dogs and selling them towards the end he was trying to get out of the trucking world he almost made it
I just saw this morning that the farmers are joining up to back the truckers in Canada. The entire convoy has been a blessing to me. Yes. Neil Young shot himself in the foot. LOL
Hey Mike. Thanks for another great ride through some wonderful scenery. Agree with you.... I liked Neil Young but not his views lol. Stay safe... And yes ... It was a rant lol. :-)
I just want to THANK YOU for such a great video in a beautiful sunny day!!! I enjoyed it so much. May be as well as hwy12 thru lolo pass. Please, more videos like these. And special thanks for your words re freedom. I wish young people could understand. Respect from Russia. Don't trust any mass media!
So happy to get up this morning and see another video! I love your video's and even watch older ones over and over! Let me say I totally agree with your opinions on here. Take care and be safe.
I have been enjoying your channel for a few months now. I love the scenery and the insight. I also appreciate your candidness in this video. Sometimes a person sees the craziness that's going on around them and just can't stay quiet about it anymore. I was initially on the fence regarding getting the vx. I'm generally not an early adopter of anything. I like to wait till the wrinkles get ironed out. But then I began to notice that some in positions of power were no longer satisfied to let 'free' citizens look at all the facts and come to their own conclusions. In fact, many of those in power began pointing to the citizens that they felt were not compliant enough and saying 'look at those people. They are the problem'. Does that ring an 80 year-old bell? That raised a 'red flag' for me. At that point, I decided I'm out. My employer had a policy: If a fellow employee tested positive and you were considered a close contact, you either had to provide proof of the vx or get tested. The first time I was tested under this policy, I asked, 'Why do only those who refuse to provide a vx card have to test when it is known that those that have received the vx can still catch the virus and spread it to others'. I was told that it was an "incentive". Fast forward a few months, and about half the folks in my office have had the virus, including the vxd. I would never presume to force someone not to get the vx. My own mother has been vxd, including the booster, and I have been nothing but supportive by making sure she got it if she wanted it. I respect her decision as an adult living in a free (supposedly) country. I expect the same respect; not to be segregated out as some kind of second class citizen.
A fight for freedom any where is a fight for freedom everywhere. As a ....kinda trucker my heart is with them. God gave us certain freedoms and they can't be taken away unless we give them away. All men are created equal, but some folks like those who sacrifice life , fortune and comfort are much more equal then others:-). Love you brother. Thanks for the common sence driving and the content. Be safe and God bless you and your family. GOD also bless your veiwers!
I find it ironic that the hippies of the '60s and '70s who rebelled against the establishment are now the establishment themselves. Things do really come around full circle in time. Peace.
Much love from the Bitterroot Valley, MT. It is a balmy 2 degrees at the moment. Will most likely fall even further before sunrise. lol As always, your videos are much enjoyed. For those who do not care for your opinions, they can just turn the volume down or get out of the truck and take their ball and walk home.
I have been watching from Newfoundland Canada........trying to see all your video......man oh man you live on the road !....retired EMT......spent alot of time on the road.....but not in a big rig.......well Happy and Safe 2022....Shotgun
One of my pet peeves is people not using turn signals in a roundabout, or using their signal because they think they are turning right into the roundabout, then drive through or turn left. My procedure is to treat it like any other intersection.
I'm your age. When I was maybe 14 or 15 my dad would take me and a friend up the Grapevine. As you know the northbound lanes and southbound would cross (not sure why) coming downhill into LA. Next to the southbound lanes there is a stretch where the old road would descend at a steeper decline than i-5 but then let up some at which time the old road and i-5 would be parallel separated only by a fence. We would ride our bikes (bmx) downhill and when were next to i-5 we would be traveling at the same rate as the trucks. Then of course we would motion the pulling of the chain and the Truckers would give us a blast of the airhorn. Not only were we having a blast but we brought many a smile to the trucker's faces. My dad would be following us (and he was a deputy) then at the bottom of the hill he would turn the car around and my friend and I would grab the door handles and he would pull us back to the top while we were still riding our bikes. Needless to say all we wore was our Levis and tee-shirts.
I really enjoy your commentary brother. You're right on. I much prefer watchingnthe great scenery along with the monologue. Much better than watching talking heads for sure. Keep up the good work. Let's go Brandon...
Hooray - M³ (M cubed) is back! I thought we had lost you a few weeks ago; your commentary seemed, well, sorta bland for awhile. I'm glad to have the whole M³. I agree with you at least 90% of the time; please keep tellin' it like you see it. I can watch other road trip videos, but there's nothing like Riding Shotgun.
Mike- I LOVE riding Shotgun as you travel through the San Juans. I am a true Coloradan. Have Lived and have traveled all over the beautiful western slope. I’m a “Durangatang” as we call ourselves from Durango, Co. I LOVE riding Shotgun with you because I recognize everywhere you travel and you are the best narrator of this region. Thank you for allowing me to ride shotgun with you cuz I now live mostly in Pho-enix now as you say👍😅❤️ Still have roots on all the routes you travel. When I need a fix, I tune in to Riding Shotgun. P.S. love your politics and your spirit. Balanced.
I bet I know you. Just watched your video when you were driving through Granby and talking about Marv and the dozer. I was managing the Blue Spruce motel in Granby when this happened. I worked for Morrow & Son and was delivering gravel to the concrete batch plant in Granby when 911 happened. I lived in Grand county from 84 to 2008.
Talk slower Mike, some words I don't have time to understand.
Beautiful Video! Love the scenery of Colorado ! I love your scenery of where ever you take us with you!! Loved your opinion on this ride as well !!!! I stand behind you 100% on this mask issue! Great Conversation!! Safe Travels! 🤗♥️🙏🏼
Lol.tell us what you really think. Love your videos and thank you for what you do and at the end of the day its about freedom. Again thanks for what you do everyday delivering the things people need.
Elon Musk? The guy who is building the Semi, the self-driving truck? You know the one that is going to make truckers unemployed... With friends like those...
Lmao you had me at 1st with truckers need to get the breaker breaker 19 oh black face is right I was like what are you saying I knew you were not on board with that nonsense but thought you might have went over to the dark side 😅😂 good one trucker… By the way are going to get in the convoy coming to America I sure hope you do that’s gonna be awesome
The whole mainstream hippy movement started in Laurel Canyon. Neil Young, Jonie Mitchell and all the popular singers of the 70s come out of Laurel Canyon. Look up Dave McGowens book Strange things in Laurel Canyon.
I like riding with you, and think that you're a very good driver especially in not perfect conditions. I like to hear your rants lol. Am not happy with all the censorship that is going on in a supposedly free world. Look forward to your next posting.
