This is one of my fravorite Rich Rebuilds episodes in a long time. The post pastry donuts and needing a chaperone had me in tears.

Here's the thing. Whipping that Lucid around like that is going to move way more units than showing it being a boring quiet experience. That was incredible.

That was freaking awesome! You guys drove it like you'd just stolen a Hyundai. You broke it down in superb fashion. Lauding the areas that deserved it and ripping the areas that didnt (the styling). At 61 years old, doing burnouts, trying to exceed 1g in turns or attempting to break the sound barrier in a luxury sedan isn't my thing but its reassuring to know if I'm getting chased by carjackers, I can get away from them (a flat out EV it better suited for that). Pobably the best new car review I've ever seen. Excellent RU-vid site and outstanding approach.

Actually looks like a great car. You can tell it's their first go, but they've gotten a lot of things right. Hope they find success, we really need some more diversity in the EV market to see the prices shift and for innovation to continue across the automotive space.

I've been following Lucid for several years. Some of the design features (like standardizing the battery design and encouraging aftermarket body kit growth) is very encouraging!

Richie mentions "competition is good for the consumer", and that is so, so true. Though ... even the entry level ($78K) version is realistically only affordable to such a microscopic slice of buyers (US) that it won't affect much of anything in the EV market overall. Vehicles costing less than half that are what will have competitive impact.

As a Tesla shareholder I want Lucid to succeed. There will be things they do that are better than Tesla and vice versa and that competition will produce better cars for everyone faster than a single manufacturer with a monopoly on the entire market. Thanks for the review RR.

Fantastic video, The lead designer of the suspension, braking and driving dynamics of the car letting you pick apart various parts of the car really shows the confidence they have in their products. Thought that bit was very cool, I really do hope LUCID does well.

The Lucid is a nice car. The software/UI could use some help to catch up. All in all, beautiful car though.

The Model S Plaid has no luxury at all, this feels so much more luxurious.

Input lag on even the physical buttons kills me. That's my number one issue with automotive tech. I hate to see it at this price point too.

Over 500 miles range wow that actually makes sense. The one major problem i have with electric vehicles is the range. I'm guessing that is where they had differences.

If Lucid gets the 3 motor EV out, they have to change the design of the vehicle to looking more mean, like take inspiration from the lamborghini or something.

It's super interesting that a E39 M5 would be a reference vehicle, being relatively antiquated compared to a car like this. I wish more manufactures would think like that.

The burnout was well worth it. Yet the lack of buttons and everything touch screen is just a lot of fingerprints showing up all over. I want to know how much a replacement battery is as that is the real measure of electric cars
