Eloy Casagrande gave one unforgettable performance at 2011 Paiste Day earlier this year. Check out this shredding drum solo by one of today's hottest Brazilian drummers.
Hopefully, he is being paid a very healthy wage for the Slipknot job. Putting up with the drama in that band would be a real headache. Slipknot are not what they once were. It is essentially a business now. His playing essentially takes the clock of the band back about 20 years. We've only heard a show or two, and you his impact is obvoius and drastic. It is the difference between having a good drummer and an amazing drummer. Or a player and a musician. He's at the top of talent pool...that is for sure.
Best metal drummer I've ever seen I challenge all the "big metal names" out there to try and reproduce this, this guy is one of the best young drummers in the world period
There are a lot of metal drummers out there, not even big name ones that are better than this guy. Just to name 1 would be Tomas Haake. He is in another dimension compared to this guy. Eloy had a good solo yes.
@Mark Juliano Disagree there. Thomas Haake has great foot control, but Eloy’s chops are way more explosive. And Eloy’s foot control is pretty elite as well. You should definitely see some of his hi-hat foot work on his other clinics.
@@Doatello1991 He just doesn't have the foot or hand control that Tomaas has- barely a handful of drummers do. Tomaas can be explosive of course but he plays at a more elite level than most and keeps it as musical as possible. Eloy doesn't play musically he just hits things- barbaric, ancient playing. Explosiveness without musicality is just barbaric. Virgil is a great example of someone that explodes musically- and weckl, colaiuta, lang- not eloy
@Mark Juliano That is far from true. You really need to check out his other clinics. Eloy is very well-versed in Latin and jazz playing. So to say he isn’t musical and he doesn’t have good foot control is a flat out lie.
There's a case to be made for what Joey brought to drumming in his time, and what he brought as far as writing and stuff but yeah.. As far as raw ability, Eloy is on another level.
Oh yeah totally. Joey as a writer was incredible for slipknot. Wouldn’t be the same band without him. Nobody was playing stuff like that back then. But Eloy is just on another level. Dude can play anything and always super clean
The only metal drummer that doesnt solo like every other metal drummer ever & probably the only metal drummer in the world that can do a left foot clave
When you choose certain musicians, you already subconsciously know that a setlist will become routine for a talent who is not a slave to money and will flee in the name of creativity.
Whoooaaa! I remember watching him when he was 14 at the modern drummer festival. Loved that performance so much. Now he has evolved to have non-human skills! This was incredible. Thumbs up if you want to see Eloy Casagrande vs Tony Royster Jr! Two prodigies on the same stage.
What a sweet addition to one of my favorite bands of all time! Since Eloy has been their drummer, they have been able to evolve their already awesome music even further. Beasts you guys are, and forever shake the living shit out of me, please!
You know...I think in today's world the word "MINDBLOWING" been used too much.....because how the hell you wanna describe performance like this tho..??!!! Every time I watch this video there are parts I need to skip 10 sec back and watch it again because my brain is unable to process how you just made it happen what I heard.... Absolutely astonishing
