Located eminently far from modern civilization, lies the former home of Mrs. Elsa.
After her husband died, she lived alone for years in this comely little wooden house in the middle of the wilderness.
She was a woman who appreciated the little things, watering the flowers in her garden or enjoying the sound of the birds and nature. She just loved having nature around her.
Unfortunately, no single life lasts forever, and her grateful life also came to an end a few decades ago. The house has since been forgotten in the middle of this wooded area. Today we go on a treasure hunt and take you back in the past in her red shabby house.

Hello Maureno, I am a 75 year old, 100% disabled veteran. I have been a historian since I was ten years old and have written six books. I have been on many adventures in my lifetime and talked to many people. For over 50 years I have been a Christian and shared my historical knowledge with many young folks. You seem to be well ahead of your years in sharing and caring for other people and their history, which I find very refreshing. Keep up your fine work which I greatly appreciate as you are showing me many things and places I would never be ably to physically visit. If you do not know the Lord, I hope you find him during your lifetime. Have a great and interesting life and never stop sharing history. Very best, Seward

I felt so emotional seeing this cottage . I thought about the life of this lady and how I know that God remembers her very well and that he will bring her back in the resurrection. Getting old and dying is the saddest thing about this life. Thanks to God's promises good hearted people will be brought back and live in paradise, like that woman. 🙏

Elsa’s tiny cottage is a true treasure of her and her small family’s past. She was pristine in her cupboards and really didn’t collect a lot of junk in her dresser drawers. She looks to have lived a simple life loving nature. This is one of my favorite explores. Thank you to you and Sarah for taking a risk finding this place. You do it for the love of your hobby. We appreciate all you do to bring us these adventures.

@@hsoderberg9929 The student hat we use in sweden was worn in the 1840s to show that they belonged to the student union, but from 1862 became a sign that they had graduated. The first time it was used in an official context was at the student meeting in Copenhagen in 1845, when the Uppsala students decided to wear the hat as a sign of recognition.

👋😊 Hi Maureno and Sarah when I see this little cottage I can imagen Elsa taking care peacefully and happy of her home with a lot of love. I'm sure she took care of it the best way she could. I can imagen that she had flowers and white lace curtains in the windows, a ticking pendulum clock on the wall and a sleeping cat on the sofa. A person happy to work in the garden and content with her little life. There must have been a way to the cottage once but mabye it has been torned up by forests machines etc. A life is such a little event in the vast space of time, so easy forgotten!

Loved this explore, such a very cute cottage. As you walked through I came to realise that I do not believe you were the first people to find this lovely home. I got the impression that it had been trashed at some point and others had cleaned up the rooms on the main floor, hence the black garbage bags. The main floor appeared untouched, but you could tell on the upper floor that that had been left in a mess that vandals had made. That was obviously the bedroom upstairs. There were clothes in a cupboard, I believe a bed behind the windows that leant against it. The windows had been replaced not too long ago judging by their style. The out building that you went too, looked like it had also been tossed and that one room appeared to have cupboards and made me think of it as a kitchen. It was possibly another small cottage at one time. The shed doors you could not open, the one closed by a strap, what little you could see through that door, looked like it too may have been a cottage at one time and had been vandalized. The first shed you looked in had a beautiful teal or green couch against the far wall, again it looked as if vandals had got into there too. This too could have been a small cottage. Maybe I am being overly romantic but to me that looked like a small complex of cottages, that over the years were left by their owners and all vandalized. Nice find and well worth your wet trek through all the vegetion. Thank you.

It is a farmhouse. Fields have typically been around the house, behind it in this case. Other buildings are for farming equipments, storage, outhouse and livestock. The forest they walked through is only decade or two old, it has been barecut. These kind of farms has been quite common in Sweden and Finland. Just barely enough for one family, but no more. This was not a farm of a wealthy family and was not uncommon that there were quite many children living tightly. They seemed only had one, and the room upstairs has been his, and is build way later. Before it has been used as storage. These kind of small farms migth been once cut from bigger farm, and built literally in the midlle of the forest. They are stil not that "remote". There has been a village somewhere nearby. Population has not been dence, so the "village" might been only few farmhouses closer together, a school, maybe a shop etc. According to photos It looks like Elsa has been young girl around 1910/1920's, last of the generation who lived like this.

In the photo of Elsa and her mother in the garden, you can see the garden and land beyond was much more open. It was kept cleared when they lived there but forest Very soon reclaims land no longer managed. Almost certainly, while she was alive, there would have been a track or single car road up to her garden and people would have visited her. I love the chest upstairs, all old Swedish houses seem to have them.

I find it so sweet that Elsa's mother(?)'s grades are hanging on the wall beside her photograph. She graduated from the "deaf and mute" school and sadly these schools/institutions were not a good place. Her grades were very good, and I find it sweet that it's on the wall because it means they were proud of her in a time when people that were deaf and mute often were regarded as "dumb" and should be hidden. Some were even locked in at mental hospitals.

Thankyou for a peek into the past of this lady. I saw no outhouse yet no bathroom in the house or a bedroom. I think you were carefull not to show those areas. Bless you for that; i think it must have been rough after the lose of her hubby. Wonder if her son had passed too since there were very little pictures of him or a family.

Yey!! Another beautiful adventure and hike in the beautiful nature of Sweden, and an amazing explore too!! 🤩🤩🤩 I can't get over of how beautiful the nature is, and so peaceful! This cute cottage is chilling in the middle of nowhere. Super cozy and cute, i bet they lived a simple yet nice life. Can't get enough of Cute Sweden and it's landscapes and cottages! A lot better than big mansions 😁 In love with this series and this channel 💛💙💛💙💛💙 Keep going, and thanks Maureno and Sarah 🤗

It's sad to me that all of those photos were left behind...no family left to take them and cherish them? I'm sure, back in the day, when people lived in these now abandoned places, they probably had established and well maintained trails or even roads leading to their homes. Now that their homes are abandoned, the trails have been allowed to return back to the wild. 🍃🤗🍃

Thank you for taking us around the globe on amazing adventures. You are my favorite adventurer bc of your respect and appreciation for the lives no longer here on earth and the homes the deceased created. So many, barge through these domiciles loudly and with no regard for the fact these spots were once someone’s precious treasure. This Swedish serious is AMAZING!

I love the compassion and respect you give to the people tho they've passed. It makes people like myself think about them and in a sense, keeps their memories so alive. You have a beautiful soul. 💕

I visited a couple once through a friend who knew them. This was back on the late 1970s, and they were in their early 80s then. They lived in a 300 sq ft or less tiny red cabin that had 2 rooms, a hand pump for water, wood stove for heat, and an outhouse. He slept on a small bed in the living room, and she slept on a wooden bench in the kitchen. They loved living simply in the woods away from the big city of Nybro (2000 people) in Southern Sweden. She did not like to waste time on frivolous things, and did not understand why I would spend any time painting my nails red. Have not painted them since!
