The Spinners are the ones singing back up on this song. Love the disco influence in this song!

It is 2011 and we still have to resort to crappy video quality because they will not release this video to home DVD. It angers me so because this footage is historic and deserves to be enjoyed by those of us who lived and breathed the music of the 70's. They will wait so long that no one will be left who cares about it when it finally is made available.

From l to r: L. Randolph Bell Sr. (Thom Bell's father); Bell & James (LeRoy Bell & Casey James); Bobby Eli; Thom Bell; Elton John; Charles Collins (drummer); Larry Washington (seated) -percussionist; Bo Ryan (Bellboy Music); seated behind Elton NOT Linda creed, but JoDee Omer (Bellboy Music); and a host of Elton's friends...(Not shown in this video, but standing to the left of L. Randolph Bell Sr. is Tony Bell, guitarist/arranger and younger brother of Thom Bell).....

This Elton's song is very rarely heard in Europe. In USA it was a top ten hit. A Philadelphia sound of the seventies is remarkable here.

So much genius in one room. Love that Thom Bell cradles a glass of vino throughout. Something about the vibe between him and Elton though - you can tell these cats were not fully aligned. A shame their collaboration fell apart. But THIS!!!

@lindafina1
@lindafina1 Год назад
Why difficult? Arrangement differences I thought
@krisscanlon4051
@krisscanlon4051 Год назад
@@lindafina1 I think he strained his voice singing in a deeper range per Bell's request. The lp was shelved until 1979 so all in all a difficult lp plus Bell made Elt record in Seattle instead of Sigma Sound Philly which was the whole point of doing the lp there... Bowie did it first successfully in 1975.
