Elton took his solo Medusa tour to the ancient city of Ephesus, Turkey, in 2001 and treated 24,000 fans to a stripped-down, but no less powerful, version of ‘Circle Of Life’. The hit song from The Lion King served as the encore for this concert and reached #18 in the US / #11 in UK. The movie soundtrack spent 10 weeks at #1 in the United States and stayed on the Billboard charts for 20 whole months, eventually selling 10 million plus records.

Remember hearing this one for the first time back in 1994, I was sixteen then, thinking this guy has to be the best songwriter in the world. My opinion never changed. Elton has always has been so close to my heart, and always will be💗

we're lucky to have been alive to experience such musical genius and beauty - Elton John made the world a better place through this song (it changes anyone who listens to it), and the fact that he wrote this in ~2 hours after receiving the lyrics to the song by Tim Rice is unbelievable.

I like this video of Elton singing this best. The 1 posted by Disney features animations from The Lion King. Its a much younger Elton but the animation detracts from Eltons performance. I love this song & enjoy Elton's beautiful voice
