I listen to this song regularly. It is beautiful, intensely romantic. The video perfectly captures a schoolboy's crush and the object of his crush is so kind and indulgent. I have always loved this song and loved it even more after discovering this video.

This isn't the full video to Elton's song as the beginning and end showed the older boy. On the 1st scene he was in a glowing background with his hair blowing and on the last scene he was reading a letter. I assume it was edited to fit the song's length. The full video can be found on Tom Robinson's channel.

There has never been a doubt since the 1st time I heard his voice, I was 8 & now 60, none would ever compare and yes, there are unbelivably people, before, present & future that are so gifted in music- but his voice & emotion in each song just makes the madness of the world seem distant.

I love this song and video and the entire The Fox album. There was a VHS rental place that had Elton John: Visions (basically a video collection of the Fox album), I used to rent it over and over again, that was actually how I first heard the album. When the place went out of business and they were selling all their VHS, I bought it and Live in Australia. I still have both, now I want to hook up my VHS to watch it again.

This was directed by Australian Russell Mulcahy who directed loads of famous videos back in the 80s as well as fiilms like Highlander. It reminds me of that early Colin Firth film 'Another Country'. Apparently this was quite controversial back in 1981 although i have absolutely no memory of this song in the UK back then, but then again in 1981 I guess I was into the new wave stuff. Weird to think the boys in this will all be in their 50s by now!

Dang! I forgot about that! I use to have Visions eons ago on Betamax... It finally died.. Never could find another copy. I understand at the time is was on RCA video disc and Pioneer Laserdisc.

Last year, I've purchased 3 video version of Visions which includes this song on VHS still sealed and unplayed. I had it sent across from USA to UK as my VHS video recorder can also play NTSC tapes. I hope this channel will also play all of the videos from the full version.

A great Elton track with lyrics by Tom Robinson, who had a few hits including '2-4-6-8 Motorway'. Elton said in a 1980s interview with Paul Gambacinni that it was one of the greatest lyrics he'd put music to.
