Imagine 40 years to the day, I was 10 years old just before Christmas,a wife and 2 sons lost a father and world lost a star, but stars in time shine brighter and brighter, its 40 years and its still getting brighter,Dec8 I'LL never forget, its the first time I cried towards another person.
I dedicate this song to both my mom and John Lennon because they met each other on the elevator in 1979 at the Dakota apartment in New York City, she told me her story how she met John when she was visiting New York!!!! Rest In Heaven John and mom!!!!
I cannot listen to this song without completely breaking down and crying everytime I hear it I can only play it in private, for that reason, I can imagine how Elton John must feel when he has to sing it. The lyrics have a double meaning for me because I know it was written for John, but it also reminds me of someone very special who I lost, My son.
This timeless dedicating song to John Lennon by Elton John enraptures my entire mind in listening and being taken away on a deep musical, journey into my imationation of his telling story..wow! Listening is indeed a great pleasure. Thank you Elton John
Happy "70th" birthday John Lennon. I wish you knew how much you are missed and how many lives you touched. You are a true legend and your death has made you a martyr for your believes and ideas and you are now larger than life. My heart goes out to Yoko and Julian and fans everywhere on this day of celebration to one of the greatest singer/songwriters ever.
Im so obsessed with this song...I play it over and over singing at the top of my lungs...crying...thinking about my mom who passed away suddenly and way too young... so powerful...
