Elton John Interview 2 of 2 

I remember waiting at the back of rod laver arena in Melbourne in 1990 and as all the cars pulled up, I ran at the fence and it collapsed.. only to be set upon by the security lol.. I remember Elton saying is he OK and I was just so excited to see him.. no autograph, just waved as he went inside! I'll cherish that memory forever

Sleeping With The Past was one of just three very good albums he made in the 1980's. The other two being The Fox and Too Low For Zero.

U can tell Elton is F'd up .Twitchy and nervous and looked like grandpa Jack. BT looked so young and rather cute.

Really truely regret I never got to use either of the two opportunities I had to go see him in concert. He's a legend.

Honestly, I think Elton looked at himself in a mirror one day, saw what was happening to himself, and instead of cutting a line of coke on it, he went to rehab.

OMG Elton looks like very much older than Bernie, but he"s only 3 years older he seems to be 10 years older than his lyricist 😕

Any more interviews from this time? Two years after his divorce? So it's 1990, right before Ryan White and rehab. He is licking his lips constantly and his face looks so bloated in the interview... Totally coked out.

Thanks, I actually knew him I met his manager john reid in a hustlers bar in NYC called rounds, he invited me to the show it was the breaking hearts show, well guess what me an elton hung out that night all night, he was snorting coke like a maniac at that time I wasn't using drugs, anyway I got to know him pretty good a real bitch no kidding. the reason I can tell he's high is because I've been with him, and if i'm not mistaken he was an avid user when he gave this interview.

Agree 100%. An Elton-fan TRUE BLUE...stuck with him in 1976 after he came out and my whole school turned on him calling him a fag...LOVE Elton..BUT..He lost that voice in 1980.....incredible incredible voice..gone forever for stupid reasons, drugs and alcohol

Great in person---because his horse bad voice is drowned out by the noise. I love elton, but he lost his voice forever in 1980. Because of Drugs, drinking and sheer lazyness. Opera singers can still sing after 30. compare EGO (or any 70s song) with EMPTY GARDEN (hey froggy froggy) and then LION KING (a dying whale on the beach). But he works hard and is seen with many young stars. I still like him. The rep of the gay comminty.
