I honestly think the “1975 Elton John Dodger Stadium” performance is one of the greatest and most iconic live performances EVER!!!

I doubt whether his parents would say that. His father, his mother and his step father. Never went to any of their funerals and his step mother finally got sick of him bagging his father and set the record straight. Met him once here at a party/drinks get together in Australia around 1980. He was a vile nasty queen and when he left with his small group of flunkies people were relieved.

I was 16 at the time, we went to stadium around 4am to get good seats..there were 100s of fans there already..the entrance was by the street about 1/2 mile downhill from stadium..anyway, I forgot my buddy was a cross country runner at my HS.. when they opened gates he grabbed blanket and said go to front of stage.. we ended up about 20ft from stage and had to move back because stage platform was high.. when "don't l let the sun go down on me " at sunset I looked back to sunset and what a moment!!.. love elton

I'm confused about "Reggie" choosing John as his last name, supposedly after John Lennon, but in the book, it states it was after John Baldry (sp) I love Elton and I watch Rocketman every couple of weeks, and I loved the book. Even the cover is artistic, colorful and great jut like him!

That part of the movie is fiction. The reality is the one he explains in the book

Elton was taken from sax player Elton Dean and John from blues musician Long John Baldry.

I must read his book to understand how he coped with the pressures of fame - it’s rewards and it’s hardships.

Having been a huge fan of this man's music for forty six years, I can say that his book and movie were amazingly UNINSPIRING. Not much at all in the way of life lessons, truth, courage, beauty, etc. Be careful who you put up on a pedestal. If I wrote it, he would have been a hero; but he wrote it, and a lot of it is kind of sad and pathetic. A wonderfully gifted human being who has brought happiness to millions, but I don't learn anything from his life other than maybe perseverance, and stay away from alcohol and drugs.

A true fan that i'am, I also was really disappointed with the film. I could have done better if I were the writer and director. The book I didn't even bother to read. The photos in the book were not great. I have seen much more varied and excellent photos.

I can’t watch “Rocket Man” to the end. I am not sure I want to read “Me” because I’m not overly comfortable that, to be successful, you have to live a life like that. It just doesn’t seem right.
@suelynrogers
@suelynrogers 2 года назад
He's not advocating living a life like that in order to be successful. It's an honest story of what he went through, and recovery.
