"Lestat" was a musical written by Elton John & Bernie Taupin (the only musical they have written together) based on the Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles. Before production, in the early 2000s, Elton John created a set of full production demos of the songs used in the original musical. The musical played for a few weeks in 2005-06 in San Francisco, and then a few weeks on Broadway in 2006, and then closed.
The song "To Kill Your Kind" in the musical is sung by Armand and his coven of vampires, who punish the child vampire Claudia for her attempt to murder Lestat. They declare her guilty of this vampire crime, not for justice, but for revenge on Lestat, her maker.
