I sang this song to my goddaughter to put her to sleep. Instead of her falling asleep she just looked at me and grinned all big with the cutest baby smile i've ever seen :D (btw, she's only 5 months old)

I don't know how often I watched the lyrics video to A Rose For Epona - over 100 times for sure. I love this song. It's absolutely perfect! Anna is amazing, the best female singer I know. In the lyrics video I wrote that this is my favorite song. Now this is my favorite music video of all time. Thank you very much, Eluveitie!

In Gallo-Roman religion, Epona was a protector of horses, donkeys, and mules. She was particularly a goddess of fertility, as shown by her attributes of a patera, cornucopia, ears of grain and the presence of foals in some sculptures. She and her horses might also have been leaders of the soul in the after-life ride, this is also where Link's horses name is derived from.

yes Link's horse's name is Epona. but in this song Epona is a Helveitian Goddess who watched over the men and the Calvary. during this time in the album Helveitos, the Helveitians have been fighting the roman empire and have now left their homes to settle east, the trek was horrendous. seeing that their was no hope, this Helveitian woman turns to her Goddess Epona, and accusses her for forsaking her and her people. Its quite emotional when you understand it.

i love everything about this band. All are amazing musicians and anna nd chirgel are my favourite metal singers. Also the fact that not only do they sing about the ancient europeans but the fact they have a solid knowledge of it. Also the fact that they focus on more than the vikings is really refreshing

Epona was the gaulish goddess of horses, she was a very popular diety and one of the few ones that gained worship from the roman conquerors (specially by the cavalry and horse breeders), she even had an oficial worship day at Rome (18 of december)

So is the lute. The easiest way to tell the difference is in the headstock. On a lute it kicks back to create more tension, where as a mandolin has a head similar to the guitar where it looks square.
