What a beautiful and classy woman, even at almost 60 years! Priscilla with her wiggly nose, short legs and cosmetic surgery is no match for Ginger, who is not only stunningly beautiful but also a very good writer.
Thank you so much Ginger for your love and respect for Elvis, which is so apparent in your Memoir! It’s 2022 and I watched Elvis (the movie in theaters) and it was incredible , so grateful for their love and respect and truth telling was so appreciative as a society then and today. Elvis was like our American Hercules, sent to save the world with his strength and gifts. After I watched Elvis though, I felt unsettled and sad. Longing for more, it tortured my thoughts and heart for nearly a week. And then I came across Ginger and Elvis (it really did feel like a gift from Elvis through Ginger) telling who he really was and the man he had become, and who was by his side during his literal last breath. And I feel so much better and uplifted , knowing this intimate inside look, how much hope and love and life was before him. He had new dreams and he died knowing he was loved by “Gingerbread”. Elvis was so spiritual and full of knowledge and truths and I’m forever grateful and touched by this memoir. Elvis, Our American King. We love you Elvis and your legend lives on. From a 90’s little girl from Kentucky, grown into the woman I am today- spreading your light and love and songs to my own children now.

She was just 20 when she started dating him. Vernon never liked her; he thought she was a gold digger, and he commented that the only time he saw her smile, was when her engagement to Elvis was mentioned. She would not/did not sleep in the same bed with him. People that knew the Alden Family, personally, said they were takers and users, and that it was not uncommon for Ginger to carry very large handbags...filled with Presley belongings, when she would leave. Elvis was not in great health at this time, and probably unaware of much of what went on. At the closing of his life, I have read of those (women) who were most concerned about him: Kathy Westmoreland, who sang with him and loved him, as he loved her; Priscilla, yes, she was there for him when he needed her, most; his housekeeper/cook, whose name I don't have, I'm sorry. Near the end, Elvis asked for a menu of: peanut butter and sliced bananas on toast, with bacon. Mashed potatoes and gravy, sliced tomatoes...and she happily served it up...he was cared for. And, of course, his dear father, Vernon Elvis Presley...they shared mutual love, respect and understanding. RIP Elvis.

Just read that Ginger's husband of many years died on August 16 from a heart attack. It was sudden and a shock. Condolences to her, her husband, family and friends.
Her husband wasnt elvis, they lived together and talked about it. He only married one lady Precilla Beauleau, the other ladies in his life he asked afew to marry him. Linda Thompson and Sheila were the only ones I recollect as well as Ginger. All say he asked them.

Mortimer, know one knows that. He still could had died that day. One of the doctors said he died with-in 4 minutes. The drugs gave him too many health problems and probably contribute to his death. I'm not against or for but always considered Priscilla a lovely looking woman even though find it terrible that she's so obsessed about herself. She was beautiful and should've done few touch ups if she liked, but God pays back in time and what she did to Elvis is coming back to bite her and how!! Elvis was relieved when Priscilla walked away, he had enough by then for whatever reason . Marriage was all her idea and the colonel's esp. when she felt threatened by Ann Margret who was then on the scene. Love had died if you wish to call it that but I feel it was his mother's death and that caught him off balance and vulnerable, and the reason he turned to Priscilla. There was affection but even that soon died, I know this. Lisa Marie was the only reason Elvis never walked away completely without looking back, His track record shows he never turned back to any woman once he was over with let alone a woman who cheated on him, ask Linda! ;)) Lisa.. she was the only one he went down on his knees for and put up with Priscilla, even the few times that they would meet, or when she asked him to come for those Vegas shows. I think we know why too! You are so right. Its about time someone spoke up. Elvis passed away and didn't leave her a thing. She talked Vernon into leaving to over see lisa trust. Believe you me, she well got paid. Priscilla talks as if she never left Elvis. Had many many boyfriends. Had a son and didn't have enough respect to take his last name or did she?. Ginger was engaged to Elvis. I remember seeing his last Concert on tv and introducing Ginger as his fiance. I thought i remember him asking her to stand up and show the ring. But interesting enough that part is no shown. Well sometimes Ginger comes over to place a real TCB order when I want to propose to Dolia, I don't know where my allowance went tho.... In her interviews she keeps waffling on about "we talked about the wedding we set the date"! Poppycock, there was NO wedding why would she lie & Deceive? she knew before Elvis died he wasn't going to marry her. Elvis had changed his mind why not mention it? and her book no mention in there either. I knew there was something shifty about her little to no emotion when talking about someone she is supposed to love and lost in death very staged no tears looks like a cold wet fish sitting there paraphrasing. Billy his cousin shows more emotion he's always choking up and brought to tears when he talks about him. Elvis told billy smith they argued about several things that night about her going on the tour and that the wedding was off he'd had enough of her Charlie Hodge & Larry Geller said in an interview "Elvis was getting fed up with Ginger by August billy & Jo his wife said it was getting worse near the end the arguments the drama that was Ginger! when he met her she was over 20yrs younger. his time with her was a part of his life that was unhappy cos he wasn't getting wat he needed from a woman. he was probably happy in the beginning with her but as time went on he wasn't anymore the unrest was getting to him his health getting worse couldn't put up with her drama the constant arguments. Ginger in her book - almost the first chapters empasizes very clearly (and maybe intentionally) that in these times and at this young age she was just shy and didn´t know what to say or how to express herself to others (it would make sense, that Elvis himself instructed her asking politely and friendly for things she wanted - not in dominantly - according to the book). Such a behaviour very often will be misinterpreted as lordliness. And the story of Ginger and Elvis didn´t last even a year, but only 9 months - an in this time you can´t speak of true love in terms of sharing your daily routine and caring for each other in good and in bad times, what Elvis certainly tried towards her right from the start (according to the book), just of being madly in love maybe. And in my opinion learning from his former failed relationships he wanted to do it better this time and put much more effort (and money) to make this relationship happen. Ginger - especially her appearance and her familiar background (mixture of disciplined military and strict Christians) was corresponding to his idea of a perfect American wife at this time - and in combination with a certain physical attraction he might felt for her his mind created the woman of his dreams and spoke to her mother just after 2-3 weeks he had met Ginger for the first time of marriage. In my eyes this could have been viewed by others clearly with mistrust. But Elvis chosed all his women by "love at first sight" (even Priscilla) because he considered the moment of the first encounter as something mystical according to his romantic nature - and then he decided spontaneously to get to know somebody better or not. With the restricted possibilities he had to get to know somebody slowly and in a normal way concerning his special lifestyle even understandable. And at the beginning of his fourties knowing well that he was turning ill (like other of his family members died at a relatively young age) he might have sensed something like a midlife crisis as well not knowing what the future - besides his concerts always on the same locations for years - would bring to him. Thank you so much for answering. It would have taken all day to find that info. I am much more interested in his women than him, truthfully. Please don't hate me, but, I'm not an EP fan. I got here from a video of Linda Thompson. She is so fabulous and funny and I wondered about his other women. He sure had a type, didn't he? There always was something about him that made me shudder, not in a good way either. But, it seems like most women adored him. What do you think of his daughter?

Politbarometer, The article do not make any sense, Ginger bossing the staff? Taking over? Really? Nah...come on. Even Larry Geller wrote in his book that he was surprised when she talked ; ) Ginger was the only one who did not move in to Graceland. It was Linda who change the rooms in that awful red colors. Not even Elvis liked it. Ginger had her clothes moved in? Nope...She only had an small overnight bag with her when she spend the night at Graceland. She only took a few items with her when she left the day Elvis died. So the printed story doesn't ring true...
The ones that stabbed him in the back right before he died didn't like Priscilla either, so my guess is they didn't want any woman with the power to influence Elvis one way or another in his life. They were afraid the blinders would come off and Elvis would see them for the blood sucking leeches most of them were. Not all of them but most.
