Way more mature , patient polite, authentic, gentlemanly. at a young age until his image departure than any celebrity or entertainer up to the present. A stellar stand-out…a one of a kind stand alone. Never ever to be duplicated. GOD blessed the world with this man. We will soon find out exactly what a “hero” and The Marvel this man truly was…. He sounds tired. Very tired. His response time is greater, here. Wants to do this interview, but seems to want to keep his life private. Sweet, kind voice. A well-mannered man, respects everyone unless and until he is crowded to an extreme. ❤️

Me too!! I love him so much although I only recently became aware of Elvis last year after seeing the movie. I have never been the same since & have been seeking out everything about Elvis on RU-vid ever since. I would say I’m completely obsessed & in love with him long after his departure. So sorry & sad about that

Interesting. I wondered why an unrelated interview question cut in so abruptly just after he'd answered 'spirituals'. I would have loved to hear him talk about that music in more detail. Do you remember anything of what he said?

@@spritzalicious9937 Well, he basically explained to the reporter the difference between "gospel" (written songs) and spirituals (very old songs with unknown writers). In other words, although he didn't say it in these words, spirituals are folk music; gospel is not. He totally understood it. Not sure the reporter did.

@@RobinMarkowitzcoolmedia Thanks so much for replying. That's awesome to know. I'm new-ish to Elvis, and watched a doco recently about his relationship to gospel music. Some of the musicians interviewed (people he'd played with) also said he knew a lot about gospel. They gave the impression Elivs was a voracious listener - kind a music nerd, I guess (I'm meaning this as a compliment). : )

It's so much deeper because the recording is slowed down slightly. It wasn't actually this deep in '57.

@@knowmusicman157 No, your right it was parkers fault elvis never met his potential in the movies , and that he never went to Europe to tour as he was an illegal immigrant , had elvis toured parker would never have let him go that far without him and then he would never have got back in the country again

@@gassbaggerwoods5955 I had a friend that was in basic training army with E. My friend was an actor and singer. His CO begged E to perform like other entertainers. He said no because the Col. Wouldn't let him.

@@knowmusicman157 and that jst goes to show the level of control parker had over elvis , dictating wat he did and where he went yet at the end of the day elvis was paying his wages and not the other ways around. parker was an illegal immigrant NOT an American but a dutchman he had no visa had he let elvis tour outside the U.S and parker went with him he would have never have been able to go as he would not get back into the country and we all know the control he wanted to have over elvis he wasn't going to be very far from where elvis was, so that meant he was never going to let elvis tour outside the U.S !!! parker stifled elvis didn't allow him to show his true acting prowess elvis had creative disappointment that contributed to his downfall!!

I think some things could be ablessing in disguise. He was still bigger without setting foot outside of America, Hawaii n Canada. 2023 and we are still hearing his music todate.❤😁

I thought King Creole was Elvis’ best movie, and I consider that it would have been even better if there were less songs - and better still if it featured no songs, if they truly wanted to develop his acting career. I thought Flaming Star was his second best movie, and followed very closely was Kid Galahad. Kid … was released after Blue Hawaii. I’m making some calculated guesses that when they found that Girls, girls, girls in 1962 was so successful, combined with Blue Hawaii earlier, Colonel Parker decided to put Elvis into the can. Since both Blue Hawaii [we know that this was Elvis’ biggest hit movie] and Girls, girls, girls made more money than either Wild in the County, Follow that dream, or Kid Galahad, the decision was made to focus more on Elvis’ music than his acting. Those soundtracks from his movies starting with Girls, girls, girls showed an increase in poor songs as well. {Viva Las Vegas was probably his best movie during those slack years}. When Elvis was about to make his comeback, his movies were superior than the previous ones; but, by this time, the fans had enough of the mediocrity and supported him less. “Money, honey, if you want to get along with me …”. By the way, I thought Wild in the Country was so bad that Elvis couldn’t redeem it. Anyway, this is just my opinion, not from some famous movie critic.

@@sandysexton6570 ,I absolutely adored Wilf in the Country. He portrayed the character very well, and it was dramatic in terms of the characters, situations, and even the settings. It was something new that they wouldn't allow him to do again. Comedy just seemed more popular from him than drama. He excelled at both.

I think they all give joy to whoever is watching them; I think that is the most important criteria of all, the one that counts the most. Forget all your problems and get lost in an Elvis movie.

Yes the videos at Graceland & home movies this is what he sounded like.

I've heard Elvis say on more than one occasion that he was very shy and anxious. He said his voice always goes high when he gets nervous. He said he had trouble talking to people because it caused him anxiety. He always thought he might say something stupid and so that was one of the reasons he had the Memphis Mafia, so they could always chime in.

He was still very young and everything was happening at rapid speed with his career. The interviewers were just in awe of this great guy. They definitely made him feel at ease, they genuinely liked him, I think he was relaxed and comfortable with this interview. 6-18-22

Because he was just starting out then, but Col. Parker watching the audiences' reaction to Elvis knew he was going to be a big star.
