Our channel "specializes" in the spoken-word of Elvis Presley; we have collected all known Elvis interviews, press conferences and public speeches under a playlist ("Elvis - In His Own Words"), and YT as a platform allows them to be more widely heard and seen in general than what they often are. Elvis rarely gave interviews and press conferences but some of them reveal an interesting, deeper side of him that is even more rarely seen.
Browse through hours of Elvis' views of the world, his music and his career - and everything in between.
this interview was taken in late July, in a dressing room on the MGM lot. Jerry Shilling wrote about it in his book. I was just reading it and remembered that I may have heard this interview. so here i found it to listen to it in full again now from a different perspective
Im as straight as a guy can be but 5:44 ! Dam he was HANDSOME!

A hostile vreporter. Call it singing? Nobody? This repryer is a nobody for his malice. The media then was bad like today.

Great interview and so in the middle of historic Elvis. talks about Sullivan, Allen, Voone. great interveiwer too. Shows how the south right away embraced Elvis but not the liberal urban North. Elvis won.
Admirably mature and constantly in his fans' corner, this man is a treasure. His polite restraint demonstrates his Southern upbringing. Being poor has nothing to do with manners, grace, style, and dignity, all if which he has in spades‼️⚡🌹
Love the rythem of his voice, no wonder Elvis sings like he does. Amazing to me how patient Elvis is with the press. Polite and answers questions respecting the media. Oh my gosh so handsome
Elvis is so polite ,respecting this interview by calling this guy sir . Wow Elvis is so respectful, what a polite person Elvis is.Love you Elvis r.i.p.
My mother left our father-like Priscilla did (for another man) that had nothing...she wanted come home & daddy forgave her let her back ! She had everything with my dad-like Priscilla did ( was gone 2 yrs-lucky for her he did)
that's the most talking I've ever heard from Elvis besides his movies and at first I didn't think it was him but it was. As he spoke more I realized it was him. He had no idea in 1956 what a star he would become. Love love Elvis!
