Thank you very much for the upload s I wich I could go back in time to the 70s all so sad to hear the news about Lisa Marie Presley rest in peace she will be missed around the Elvis Presley would
Elvis' understanding was that he was to only provide his name for the courts and not be part of the investment portion. When things started going in a different direction regarding that he did not want to invest. That being said another interesting video of Elvis related history.
Amazing! I had no idea this building existed. I do know the venture this building represents began with an Elvis excited about a new sport which might help him shed pounds but resulted in damaged friendships within the Memphis Mafia and an Elvis who felt he had been used. It is strange to think in a slightly altered universe, this building may have been seen in hundreds if not thousands of copies across the US much like a McDonald's of fitness, each with pictures of Elvis playing racquetball.
Very cool stuff!! You guys always share such fun and interesting information with us!! Love to watch these videos and learn something new about Elvis!! Keep up the great work!! Thanks for sharing with us!!👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️
Certainly was an interesting moment in Elvis's twilight years. Thanks for the extra context. Another great insight. We appreciate what you do for all of us 👌👏🙏
Those business people tried to pull a fast one on Elvis, but as soon as Elvis saw the amount of money they were wanting just to start up the EP Courts and the $50K a year (1976 money) just for a secretary, Elvis bailed out faster that you shake a stick. IMO Elvis should have left the project in the Colonels hands, but the Colonel would never have touched it.
"Then one of Elvis’s aides told him that “his money,” none of which he had given to the venture, was being spent recklessly. He claimed McMahon had purchased a new car and hired a pricey secretary at a salary quoted to be more than twice the amount she was actually being paid. Elvis exploded. He called McMahon and in an irate conversation told him he was pulling out of the deal; he wanted nothing to do with the racquetball courts and wanted his name taken off everything." - Pg 105 The King and Dr Nick
@@subatomic10 What book is it mentioned in?This is the racquetball courts Elvis was complaining to Red West about in that last phone call that was recorded without Elvis’s knowledge.
I always wanted to see that building and its interior as it was a bit controversial between Elvis and his memphis mafia as they are known. Joe Esposito and Dr Nichopoulos filed a lawsuit against Elvis over this racquetball adventure !!
