I've heard the x-rated version of "Hurt" by Elvis a number of times. I think it's hilarious. Hearing Elvis swear while singing is everything! There's nothing like it.
Wow, this is hilarious. Great footage that you put on this one of Elvis and Vernon. That grin and wink from Elvis is priceless and the look of concern on Vernon' face is funny. I love the jokes and pranks that Elvis played on people. Elvis knew how to have fun. Thank you David. I needed a good laugh.
Thanks for this juicey information about Elvis , Vernon and the song Hurt. Everyone has said Elvis liked to play practical jokes on people and he really got his dad on that one considering Vernon's facial reaction, especially when the Colonel Parker and Studios wanted Christmas Specials and Family shows. Thanks for this tibet of humor from Elvis lips to Vernon 's reaction; priceless. Enjoyed this, will watch again for a laugh produced by the King of Rock and Roll ❤😂🎉😮😅😊
Omg that was so funny ! It makes me laugh when I hear Elvis talking like that … he definitely had a very naughty side ! Thankyou for these little gems ! I’m always on the lookout for Elvis books and Kathy’s is definitely at the top xx
This is hilarious, David! 😆 Great job. I've always loved that version of "Hurt." I honestly think Elvis was singing that song to Priscilla, but that particular part was for Mike Stone 🤣 ELVIS FOREVER 👑❤️👑
I have never heard this story. 😂😂😂 He is so mischievous! :😂😂 Vernon’s face is priceless and then it seems like he gets it. He knew how Elvis was and he realized he had been pranked. Elvis was a lot of fun. I miss him every single day ❤
I can only imagine what Vernon was thinking 😂😂... Elvis loved a joke and never stopped laughing so that story made me giggle thinking of Vernon's face 😂
That is hilarious! I can only imagine the thoughts going through his Christian, and very southern dad's head when he first heard that! And, I can picture Elvis standing there, pressing his tongue against the inside of his cheek, like EP did anytime he was trying to hold back from laughing! 😂😂😂Great story and thanks for sharing!
From what I've heard, someone ran a cassette dub of the song off the master tape at the time, that's why the sound quality and speed are a bit off. The original master tape was held by Felton Jarvis, whose wife destroyed the recording of that take after Felton died, because "she didn't want Elvis to be remembered like that". I sure wish we had the full quality master recording of that take, but these things happen.
Me encanta lo que haces, eres genial, los libros escritos sobre Elvis quidiera comprarlos todos, pero no hay publicaciones en español . Al menos a través de ti descubro cosas de los libros que no puedo comprar. Gracias siempre por compartir.
One of my favorite songs from him. The genre is called Swamp Pop; from the swamps of Louisiana. After Loving You is another song by him from the same genre.
Elvis could control his voice on this song it was unbelievably but never heard that version until now i could see how veron could be embarrassed but elvis was a jokester
I agree, this is made up. Elvis was a jokester with a sense of humour but not this vulgar. He did curse sometimes but this doesn't even sound like him if you ask me. The spoken part, I mean.
@@carolynroberts1123 Well I don't think its his fault. He believes it's true. Knowing how Elvis's parents raised him I don't believe it, and the level of profanity is not his usual, although he definitely cursed often. Thanks for backing me up! See, we have faith in you Elvis!
It was a joke. This is something reported in Kathy Westmoreland book. He's inventing nothing.Elvis didn't always use proper language, as we all do. Evidently you don't know much about him or have never heard him in the studio through the uncut takes.
Just shows Elvis had fun at those sessions. You can just imagine Vernon thinking - that's the end of my sons career. These days swearing and offensive language is a sales gimmick -people find other things to take offence at and bad language gets a pass.
omg that got me laughing soo much, that tears were rolling down. Poor Daddy Vernon. it remnded me of a story about lollies and the fire crackers.. Can you find that story please. Naughty Elvis ❤😊
First time I have heard the story behind the song. Really can't believe Elvis recorded the x rated part just solely for Vernon. When I listen to HURT and I have listened to it over and over. It seems to me Elvis was very emotional.
I saw a video awhile back that featured recorded outtakes of Elvis singing X rated lyrics to popular songs 😂 Pretty much put to rest the notion of Elvis being a choir boy Christian
Scatter th chimp, grew be 40 lbs. He liked booze, whiskey, how got it ..? Elvis was not a drinker, MM may have given, & got him drunk, & he would .. how to put it.. pleasure himself, in public, front of guests, & lift up women's skirts! 😂 one story goes was poisoned by maid he bit.. got sclerosis of liver , died.. another was donated t zoo after El death
That shocks me but it don't surprise me either for the simple fact I got one of the whole song that Elvis did stranger in my own home town best x-rated but I didn't know he did that with her and I know where I was in 1977 when he passed away so I'm definitely shocked it was the inside prank on his daddy I can agree with that it had to be cuz he would have never done it in public
That version of Hurt wouldn’t of been played on radio it would of been banned unless the talking part was edited out then it would’ve been played on the radio. Love the look on Vernon’s face was/s priceless. Vicki Macdonald from Melbourne Victoria Australia 🇦🇺
