He’s so cool. 😎 I mean he invented coolness and swag. Whatever he did, people followed him. Even with his fashions. He was such a talented cultural icon. Thanks again. Enjoy your reactions. 😀🎸🕺🏻❤️❤️

Still so, so, soooo, young but just carried the weight of all of it. The mileage he has seen at this point set him so far ahead of other performers that there has never been a way to catch up. Kind crazy when u really think about it. Prince from another planet was what they called him. Crazy.

You have great Elvis reactions. I am really enjoying your astute commentary. Elvis is such an unmatched phenomenon and was even better live and in person. He had everyone feeling he was singing to them personally. ❤❤❤

You should watch the making of the 68 special. Such a special production! My mother had it circled, in red, in the TV GUIDE, if you can remember those. We were breathless waiting.

------------ interesting analysis, seriously. I never considered the 'production' part of this, vs also letting Elvis run free like the early days. Someone had the good sense to let Elvis have his own way for much of this show.

Lance le Gault worked as Elvis's stunt double in " Girls, girls, girls " ( 1962 ), and also had small parts in " Roustabout ", " Kissin' Cousins " and " Viva Las Vegas ", all made in 1964. As for this show, there was a mix-up with ticketing, with Elvis's Manager & NBC each thinking the other had organised the audience. In the end, NBC executives were told to get their daughters/wives/secretaries down to the studios at short notice, and they even sent staff to a Burger Restaurant to invite customers to come to Burbank studios to fill in the audience gaps, how lucky were they ?
@belinda35_77
@belinda35_77 Месяц назад
@@rawschri anyone could get tickets all they had to do was send a self addressed stamped envelope to the studio and receive up to 4 tickets per household elvis also spent the days during rehearsal and the days leading to tapping giving tickets out to friends & all the fans that hung out at the gate of his hillcrest home In fact most all the girls you see sitting on & around the stage were gate girls/friends from his hillcrest home the seats they *needed* to fill weren't that many most were obtained through the mail, from elvis or executives friends & family
@sallycook
@sallycook Месяц назад
@@belinda35_77read Steve Binder’s book and you will,learn that Tom Parker controlled the tickets for the sit down and stand up sessions. But Binder had stepped on Parker’s toes so Parker had not given any of the tickets out. Steve B suspected something was wrong (no crowds gathering) and everyone had to work really hard to pull an audiences together at such short notice. They even contacted a local radio station to give tickets away. Parker really wanted to put a spanner in the works because he wanted to create a rift between Binder and Elvis.

Incredible performance add in that it was Elvis's first live audience in several years & it really was indescribable. Elvis was always nervous before going on stage. In this instance he said that it took about the first 3 songs to get comfortable although one would never guess it. Steve Binder who directed the show said that at first he wasn't sure Elvis would even get on the stage but then the excitement and familiarity of performing in front of a live audience kicked in and he had a time of it getting Elvis off of the stage. If you want something slower paced from the Comeback Special, "Memories" would be a great choice. Mac Davis wrote the song specifically for the Special.

Bro, I'm a LIFELONG, MAJOR Elvis fan!! I gotta say I've enjoyed watching a lot of these "Elvis Reaction" videos and seeing these people getting blown away by my guy! It's cool to see people discovering something I've known ALL my life!! My guy IS the GREATEST ENTERTAINER!☑️ GREATEST SINGER!☑️ CHARISMA! ☑️ UNIQUE STYLE!☑️ UNIQUE VOICE☑️ THE LOOK!☑️ SUPERSTAR!☑️ The guy just has a way of pulling you in like NOBODY, PAST, PRESENT, or FUTURE, can even come close to anything this guy did in only a short 42 years on planet Earth! Your reaction to this performance here is pretty damn cool because everything you said is pretty much the exact same thing I've been saying for a long time! 👊 My first memories of ever hearing music and singing were when I was real young, and it was Elvis's music that was being played! My parents were total marks for Elvis and passed it right on down to me because I'm a TOTAL MARK for Elvis Aron Presley... and LOVIN' IT!!!! My parents even named me after Elvis.... my first name is Elvis's middle name, and they even went as far as to make sure to spell it the same way.... with just the one A... Aron! It's crazy, but it's crazy in a good way! 💯💯 Brother, you gotta react to "Bridge Over Troubled Water" from the "Elvis on Tour" 1972 version.... THIS WOULD BE THE SONG & PERFORMANCE I'D SHOW TO THOSE ALIENS YOU TALKED ABOUT! 🫡 To really appreciate it, it's GOTTA be the 1972 version!! HE NAILS IT 100%!!!!💪

There's some Classic music from the 50s......also from On Tour 1972.....even going through his Hollywood period....some fantastic music from King Creole...GI Blues...Blue Hawaii...and the later 60s films...perhaps one to look out for would be the Welcome Home Elvis show with Frank Sinatra...the duet...but especially Stuck On You...and a firm favourite Fame and Fortune...I love the way he sings along with the Jordanaires.....loved Elvis since around 1972.....which makes it 50 years now....Nos dha from Cornwall 😉...(only seen your Elvis reviews...if you do any of Classic 60s and 70s shows I'd be interested. ...Loved the Champions starring Alexandra Bastedo 😍)

Thank you for doing this. It's his adorable ending that gets me every time, that's why I always recommend this version; yes it's pieced together from his sit-down segment & his stand-up segment. ELVIS & HIS NERVES: Producer-director Steve Binder related a little story which took place in the dressing room right before Elvis was due to go on: Elvis was extremely nervous and he told Binder that he didn't know any of the songs, he forgot all the words, & wasn't going out there, & Binder said, "I don't care if you walk out, just say hello & then walk off, but you ARE going out." And out he came.

Try ‘Hound dog’ from the Milton Berle show (the TV performance that stirred things up), ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ from the Dorsey brothers TV show for a view into the early Elvis exposure in the mass media. He already had experience in live performances across mostly the South, on the road touring, and recording music since almost two years (from Sun Records, his starting profesional career). But in 56, trough national TV, he definitely made the impact that changed everything. There are more performances if you are interested. The Ed Sullivan show ones f.e. They filmed him from the waist up after the commotion that started with the Milton Berle Hound dog performance and consolidated his way to stardom. That year he had recently started his RCA contract and then the TV exposure...later the first movie. Nothing would ever be the same for the very young Elvis, just 21, and for that matter, for an entire culture. Thanks for your videos ⚡️

Your insight into Elvis is uncanny! If you'd like some facsinating details on this tv special, just hit me up. Back in the days when Elvis first became famous, video cameras weren't a thing. Even when they came out and more people had them, Elvis' manager was very strict about not allowing them into concerts. Of course, since people didn't always follow the rules, there are many bad quality videos available today. I think the only professionally filmed footage there is came from '68, '70, '72, 73, and '77. Plus he made many live tv appearances in '56 and one in '57.
