Elvis is timless.

It's surprising today, I'm 61, and I find his movies more cute and adorable today then back then, I was 7 or 8, I liked Elvis movies back then, but thought to be mushy with the kissing scenes, used to. put hands over my eyes, yuk! I thought, now I would just ravish him, excuse my expression. But so gorgeous.

i'm a hundred and twenty five and i still like him.

when i was 14 i was hooked too! now i'm 52 go figure...still hooked

+artist1011000 I was 10 when he died. Not a day has gone by that I don't listen to at least 1 song. He has a way of finding the empty spot you were not aware existed.

If they'd only had better writers do the songs in his films. Sorry to the writers, but... Some were ok, but most of them aren't exactly top ten material.

@@kentclark6420 Given the task at hand, to write songs for specific scenes, they did alright. The goal was not to serve music per se' but to serve the film. And even the most dismal film had at least two or three great songs. Up to 300 song demos were submitted for each Elvis movie from a dozen or so writers, each under contract with Elvis' publishing companies. They typically only had 4 weeks' notice! Some of the best writers: Lieber and Stoller, Don Robertson, Otis Blackwell, Pomus and Shuman etc, soon found it no longer worth the effort once Elvis' record sales waned in the last half of the 60s. So the likes of Giant, Baum and Kaye, Ben Weisman, Tepper and Bennett, Joy Byers, Randy Starr and other "house" writers churned out mediocre to downright awful crap. Elvis made more money from publishing royalties than from record sales royalties. And almost ALL songs on his soundtracks and most songs in general, were controlled by Elvis' publishing companies.
