This was from movie “Jailhouse Rock.” Elvis did choreography. He was about 19 here. Pre-Army days.

This was actually the world's 1st music video and it was done in '57 out of his movie Jailhouse Rock. The future was set for Music Videos!!!!!!! It was another #1 hit for him in '57 with about 5 or 6 others. All multi million selling hits. It all started in'56 With Heartbreak Hotel and in '56 he had about 5 or 6 #1 its multi million selling. He was topping the charts with anything he put out. That's when the started calling him The King of the Charts. Staying there for several weeks in a row. The world had never seen anything like this. He often wandered why he was the chosen one to set the stage for the future. He often wandered WHY he had to be ELVIS!!!! Alot of pressure was about to be at stake. He had over 600 songs. It will take quiet a journey. There's Elvis-50's, Elvis-60's and Elvis-70's. There's Elvis gospel, country, blues, pop and rock. I have a long list. Let's explore together!!! I love to see young people discover Elvis! People new to Elvis always know he's called the King of Rock 'N Roll, but I've noticed most requests are for songs from 1968 and later. "Ghost of a Chance" ........ After the song was recorded, it was clear that it was going to be a hit, So the movie was renamed Jailhouse Rock. The single was released in September 1957 ....... "Jailhouse Rock" has one of the most memorable intros in rock history ....... Two guitar chords with snare drum hits ....... The intro last just six seconds ....... But the pattern repeats throughout the verses ....... Establishing a firm musical hook that remains the envy of songwriters ....... ABC television ran a series of educational cartoons called "Schoolhouse Rock" in the '70s. Millions of kids learned about grammar, history, and astronomy from them. The title was a play on this song. Ozzy Osbourne played a heavy metal version in 1987 when he did a tour of prisons. Sha-Na-Na played this at Woodstock in 1969. Very few of the attendees saw their performance, as they didn't go on until Monday morning (the event was scheduled to end at midnight on Sunday, but ran long) ........ In 2007 ....... Chris Rock performed this on the Movies Rock TV special, where modern pop artists performed classic movie songs. Brown re-created Elvis' scene from the movie .........

He was not lip-syncing , the sound and picture were recorded on 2 seperate track back then. Michael Jackson sang while dancing on stage, it the same. Elvis and also Michael are in a class of musicians that few ever achieve. If you watch We are the world - video you will see the top vocalist of all time. Keep em coming. This is theatrical version of the original release. Yall went down a LOADED rabbit hole! There's so many levels to Elvis, this is just scratching the surface. He could do anything, actually did...but his Live Concerts were where he was truly in his element. Forget what you told before your too old. The man dominated from start to finish and the more you listen/watch yall will see. The early years set the foundation, but as time went on, Elvis kept evolving. Ya gotta look at his live material, whether it be pro filmed or not. He didn't like being called the 'King.' I simply call him the GOAT and I'll put money on that shit. PEACE!

Loved your reaction very much Elvis was the best friend i ever had in my entire life. we met when i was 17 yrs old. our friendship lasted past that one day in time we were friends for 10 yrs. up until the day he left us. He asked nothing of me and i asked nothing from him he needed a friend and so did i we were that for each other he never judged me and i never judged him. All the memories of my friend are tucked safe in my heart forever. dancing and singing breaks my heart because i know he is not here anymore my mind understands but my heart never will, i saw him a few weeks before he passed we had a short conversation which i will never share again because people are so nasty and comment hurtful heart breaking things they do not know me but they still can't keep their mouths closed about things they know nothing about. The story of the choreography -- “Alex Romero, a dancer and choreographer was assigned by MGM production executive Pandro S. Berman to work on Elvis' dancing for the movie "Jailhouse Rock.” Dancing great Gene Kelly was on set as an observer while the scene was being filmed, & Elvis was helped by dancer Russ Tamblyn, who worked with Presley on his leg movement. Romero also conceived the sets and costumes. Due to an oversight by MGM production executive Pandro Berman, choreographer Romero did not receive credit for his work. Berman sent Romero a letter of apology that was published in Variety Magazine." Romero also worked with Presley on three other films - Clambake (1967), Double Trouble (1967), and Speedway (1968)." There was a rift between Romero & the studio & i believe the lack of credit was intentional.

Actually Elvis Presley Jailhouse Rock was the very first music video recorded ever in history!

That was all Elvis, no lipsyncing.

Elvis did 31 movies. This was from Jailhouse Rock. He sang at least 1 song in all of his movies except one. Charro from 1969 is the only movie where the only music at all was the title song. Elvis knew he only had a contract for a few more movies and he was ready to get back to what he loved..being on stage in front of his fans...so he did the '68 Comeback Special to test the waters and to make sure he could still pull the crowds. By 1970, he had finished all his movies and hit the stage in Vegas before going on tour again.
