This has been an awesome series. Thank you so much Spa Guy my friend. I have thoroughly enjoyed all these fantastic stories from Bobby working and being on the road with the King and his crew. I also had a tear running down my eye when Bobby played My Way on his amazing piano. That song always reminds me of Elvis singing it on his last ever live TV concert in June 1977. 😢 A big cheers and thumbs up 👍 from your mate in Perth Australia.

Wow, what an incredible interview with Bobby. I really enjoyed hearing him play 'My Way' on the piano. It brought tears to my eyes thinking about Elvis singing it in his last concert at Indianapolis in June of 77. Even though Elvis didn't look like he felt well his glorious voice never failed him. Bobby has played with so many big musicians and even he felt the excitement and charisma from the fans when Elvis was preforming. Thanks Spa Guy for another great video. God Bless.

I love Mr. Ogdin's humbleness and sense of humour. He recalled and offered us some great memories. Mr. Ogdin did mention he performed his various assignments during his long career and each time he completed one then it was out of his mind, and on to the next assignment. His explanation reminded me of the response from his old band mate, old friend, the TCB Band player Mr. Jerry Scheff, when people asked Jerry about the details of his career. He offered a similar explanation to Bobby's by stating Jerry moved from assignment to assignment everything was "one blurr" looking back in hindsight. When Mr. Ogdin mentioned his sessions with Mr. Ronnie Milsap, I was reminded of another player which I was surprised Spa Guy didn't mention during the interview with Mr. Ogdin. Surely, Spa Guy would have discovered the same video clip I did when I searched online?? All right. First my little "back story": most Elvis fans from 9 years of age to 90 years of age are familiar with the main contributors to Elvis' show during the 1970s: Jerry Scheff on Bass, Jame Burton and John Wilkinson on guitars, Ronnie Tutt on drums, Kathy Westmoreland, The Sweet Inspirations, and J.D. Sumner & The Stamps and maybe they may recall Sherrill Nielsen, who Elvis introduced at the beginning of "It's Now Or Never" with Sherrill offering his Italian version of "O Solo Mio." Remember?? Now, as I said earlier, most Elvis folks recall the "main people" on stage. And of course, Mr. Charlie Hodge, Mr. Joe Guercio and his orchestra. My back story continues: one evening I wondered about some of the other players on stage: like Mr. Tony Brown, Mr. Larry Londin, Mr. "Stump", as I recall him, the drummer for The Sweet Inspirations and of course, the player of the current interview, Mr. Bobby Ogdin. I typed Mr. Ogdin first and last name into my favourite search engine and well, was I in for an amazing discovery online?? I found a music video produced in 1977, presenting one of the big, popular songs of the day; the recording artist was Mr. Dan Hill. The video featured what proved to be his biggest Billboard Chart hit titled, "Sometimes When We Touch." He would have many hits after this one of course. I am not a big Dan Hill fan but, one of my all time favourite years in music is 1977 when I was a teenager of 14 years, and I recall hearing "Sometimes When We Touch" on the local radio station, CJBK 1290, in London, Ontario, Canada, my home , back in the day. Returning to my RU-vid video discovery. You won't believe who two of the musicians were in the video presentation, the 1977 production of "Sometimes When We Touch"?? Now before I mention who, it was kind of ironic in a way because Dan Hill's signature instrument was the piano. I half expected him to be playing the piano during the video shoot for his hit song, "Sometimes When We Touch." However, during this entire 1977 video shoot Dan is positioned standing in front of a microphone and stand, both hands in his pockets, and of course, offering his brilliant vocal on the song. Friends, I near fell off my computer chair when the camera zoomed in on the piano player! It was none other than our man, Mr. Bobby Ogdin!! There was no mistaking his identity. Nice close up shot and lasting long enough for Elvis fans to say, "Hey?? Wait a minute, isn't he, wasn't he one of the supporting players during Elvis' tour ...?? That's not all. The camera panned over during the uptempo break in the song with the drums and guess who was playing the drums?? None other than Mr. Larry Londin himself. Again, there was no mistaking his identity. Wow. I felt as proud as a peacock. Of course, I don't know anyone I can call these days to share this information. Hehehehe. I think the video is still up online so have a search for yourself. Remember search up the 1977 video presentation of "Sometimes When We Touch." not the second later version. Thanks Spa Guy, and Elvis friends for reading another long post. I was inspired by Mr. Ogdin's memories of Ronnie Milsap and one of the first questions Spa Guy asked Mr. Ogdin during Part One. Peace, Love & Best Wishes to All.

Just loving on Bobby Ogdin. Great insight and very kind of him to take time from his personal life to allow Elvis fans to impose upon him and his memories. He understood he was being interviewed for such a reason and was very gracious. Great job by Spa Guy in making sure we understood what a rich history Bobby has in the music industry; not just a piano/organ player for Elvis, but a man that stood his own in a very difficult industry.

I went to Bobby’s website and the list of who he’s played for is tremendous and almost all recognizable huge names. So glad he gave his time to do this interview. Interviews are best when done by people very knowledgeable. Because they know what many people know and find out something themselves and people don’t know. Thanks again for bringing it Billy. Great job.

Another amazing video! Hearing the behind the scene history is awesome. I saw E twice when he came to my city, I was 10/11 yo. I had all his records and that young he was all I listened to. In the car on our way home from Opryland in Nashville when the news came on the radio. My Dad had to pull off at a rest stop to comfort me bc I was crying so bad 😓 I had chills when Bobby was playing the piano , going to his site now to show him some love! Thank you Spa Guy!✌️

Man! You are awesome Spa Guy!! It was so cool when Mr. Ogdin started playing "My Way". I could just hear Elvis' voice singing along in my mind. How I wish i could have existed back when Elvis was alive. I would've done my best to make it to one of his concerts, but since that's not possible RU-vid and especially your videos will suffice. Thank you so much for sharing this, and Thank you Mr. Ogdin for your interview and awesomely beautiful music. It literally made me get a little teary eyed just hearing the music and imagining Elvis' voice. He was one special artist and human being, and anyone who had the opportunity to see him or know him doesn't know how lucky he or she really is. I was born too late. That's why I cherish these videos and all the great Elvis footage available to us here on RU-vid. Have a great day Spa Guy! 👍👍👏

Bobby that is a good game. Crib. Ya mentioned about Charlie handing scarfs in Pt 3 think it was. When Elvis did his opening songs he would blindly backhand & blindly throw the guitar in Charlie's direction. Charlie had to be ready because catching a flying guitar on stage infront of 8,10,15,000 or how many in the building was no easy task. Heard Charlie never dropped it!!!That was really nice playing sir. Yes I can see in my mind's eye Elvis holding that paper with the words My Way & then throwing the papers away. Thought he had a mental block & was just unsure if the words would come to him or not, so it was just a safety measure. Elvis would sometimes forget the words Are you Lonesome tonight ...as he would just say " oh the heck with it " ... You really strike me as a nice humble guy & just know Jesus loves ya so much. Take care. Good stuff Billy. Yes Elvis really did it his way. As Joe E said that Elvis died at 42 but what he did in those 42 yrs was what many men living long lives still could not do what Elvis did.
