Wow these are some powerful statements here, the man was a lost soul. Heartbreaking ! This is such a sad melancholy song, with vocals so plaintive and haunting. It infuriates me to think this man was floundering, and no-one took the time to see past the painted smile, he knew himself no-one around him cared only that he continued to support , feed , clothe house and God knows what else he did for them. They truely bit the hand that fed them. Elvis only ever wanted to be understood wanted and loved for the person he was. As he aged and saw through his charade of l a ifestyle he knew himself he'd allowed the image to ruin Elvis the person, and he persecuted himself for it. His only solace was the Lord, I'm in tears here.

Can't for the life of me understand why this song was never released as a single, or never covered by any other singer. It should go down as a pure classic and won an Emmy, but seen he had no interest in the Illuminati he was lucky to get the ones for his gospel music.

I love you Elvis Presley and you were right...surrounded by millions but all alone. He was searching for a deep person that he could talk to that would understand and share those deep thoughts he had. However, most of the people around him had stars and dollar signs in their eyes and were not even interested in him as a human being.

Enjoyed it very much.I would have been a loyal, loving, devoted and caring friend and he could have talked to me about anything on his mind and I would not have hurt him, intimidated him or made him feel any less of a wounderful man and human being, and I would have never, ever, made fun of him or put him down. I would have loved him with the unconditional love he deserved and I would have been woman enough to back it up, reguardless!
This was recorded in the early sixties for a movie. He was far from lonely in those days. He banged every hollywood starlet worth bangin if she had nice feet lol. He really could make you feel every song he sung. Even the shit songs from the movies he put his heart and soul into all of them.

I think there were physical problems with Elvis and his Mother, but, I will say, I know you can die from a broken heart and I think he and his Mother did... She couldn't bare the hurt of him going into the US Army and Elvis couldn't go through another good bye to his baby girl Lisa Marie it just broke his heart and the books his buddies wrote, he couldn't take anymore heart ache, Some people may not believe that you can die from a broken heart, but my great grandma, when she was told her son had died of a heart attach, she was sick but not dying, but when she heard about her son, she died, she had a lot of Cherokee blood if not all Cherokee, her last name was Redfern, Elvis had a good bit of Cherokee too but all these DNA test won't show it, there's a few videos about why it doesn't show up, I think it's because they don't look for it or don't have a way to... As time goes on, we all get lonely when most of our loved ones have gone on before us... We need to pray one for another, that's when my prayers are answered is not when I pray for myself but when I pray for others.
Sheila M. Carrigan What do you mean he "couldn't go through another goodbye" to Lisa Marie? He saw her all the time, she even went on tour with him sometimes. No one ever kept Lisa away from her father. In fact she was there at Graceland when he died. When she wasn't there he would go to L.A. to see her, or send someone to pick her up and bring her back. No one ever kept them away from each other.
Sheila C I respect what you have to say you are obviously very dedicated to the love of Elvis like myself. But I can tell you I know somebody that saw him three months before he died. He was in great spirits, he was the happy Elvis she always knew. He was not going to marry ginger and he had a new girl with him at that moment. He had new plans of going on a Gospel tour, going back to his roots. And he was very excited about it,! And if the Colonel didn’t approve the Colonel was going too along with his bodyguards that wrote the terrible book. Elvis’s last days were not doom and gloom. He was excited about his new tour and couldn’t sleep, and took too many downers and he died.
