Here is my instrumental version of the song "The Wonder Of You" which was a hit single for the legendary singer Elvis Presley in 1970. It was written by Baker Knight and first recorded by Vince Edwards in 1958 but this version was never released. The first release was by Ray Peterson in 1959. Elvis' version was recorded live in Las Vegas, Nevada and featured "Mama Liked The Roses" as the B-side. It was his most successful single and topped the UK chart for six weeks.
I played this using my Fender Stratocaster (Bridge Pickup) with the Zoom G2.1Nu (EFTP Patch A9). Recording was done via USB to my home PC with Cubase.
The backing track was from Karaoke Version and based on the 2016 version of the song which featured the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and appeared on the album "The Wonder Of You". It is available for purchase here - www.karaoke-ve...
I also used tablature written by Phil McGarrick (random275 on RU-vid) and it is available via his website - www.philmcgarri...
I hope you enjoy my rendition of this classic song
LYRICS:
When no-one else can understand me
When everything I do is wrong
You give me hope and consolation
You give me strength to carry on
And you're always there to lend a hand
In everything I do
That's the wonder
The wonder of you
And when you smile the world is brighter
You touch my hand and I'm a king
Your kiss to me is worth a fortune
Your love for me is everything
I'll guess I'll never know the reason why
You love me as you do
That's the wonder
The wonder of you
