Hi Scotty what cool video Elvis Presley Viva Las Vegas Ftd Album like say work hard with your video big thankyou for what you do my friend take care long live elvis
I agree with you that RCA should have put out a “Viva Las Vegas” soundtrack album in 1964. The film is one of my favorite Elvis films. Every scene is interesting. The chemistry between Elvis and Ann-Margret is hot. I find it hard to believe that RCA didn’t capitalize on it.
@@ScottysElvisPresleyMusicChanel every once in a while God gives us a Fairy tale Love ... In my opinion. This was theirs .. I read somewhere. E.P. saying. Yes he absolutely loved Cilia. (( He actually loved most of the long timers. Linda, Sheila, perhaps even fell in Love with Ginger. )) He went on to say , ( Cilia is on record Saying same.) "Although they Loved each other they were better off apart ". Love is a strange emotion , it carries various degrees of heartfelt emotions . E.P. although he loved Cilia . He and Ann were Soul mates. That love that comes and lasts forever , yet circumstances. Keep u apart ... If u remember ann married just one week later. That was no coincidence . Elvis being the Man of his word , marrying Cilia .. On the other spectrum, Ann married Roger. And lived that commitment till death do one part .. That is the quality Elvis recognized in her . I know all to well the phrase "Fake it till your make it" each couple learned to live the commitment... ( ann drank heavily to cope ) Ann will forever hold The love she had for Elvis .. AS did Elvis. We all know the story of him slipping in to see her performances. The on going flower display ...
Scotty this video is fantastic. That movie was the first Elvis movie I saw when I was 14 th and at that moment I became Elvis fan. He was gorgeous! And Ann Margaret too. Thanks for remembering this! It's amazing ❤
Check the fantastic haircut on Elvis. How many hairdressers can cut hair like this style today? Not one, in my opinion . Elvis looked fantastic, sounded divine, great clothes , Chelsea suede shoes and slim ( slimming pills, from army days? ) Elvis was one lucky dude with all them chicks ...the cat who got all the fresh cream 😊 Flaming Star record with a photo of Elvis 1968. Wonderful World was a reject song for the UK entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1968. Cliff ( Richard ) chose Congratulations. Elvis took Wonderful World and was featured in the film Live a Little, Love a Little. As always, the Elvis version is far better than Cliff's version
Yes but what a cover..he’s got his cowboy hat on..so I guess that could kind of cover Flaming Star😉 Cliff Richard was never in Elvis league..though I do like Cliff..or did..his early stuff
Hi Scotty with the cool stereo equipment! I enjoyed your review of the Viva Las Vegas LP. I loved all the great movie scenes and the different version of the title song. I don't know how you find all this stuff. Your knowledge is exquisite! Viva Las Vegas and viva ELVIS and for sure Ann Margret. We're so lucky she is still with us! Thanks Scotty. 😎✌️
20 Jul 2023. Thanks again Scotty. We appreciate all your hard and fastastic work for our Elvis. God bless you and your family. ❤️🙏🏽 take care. Your reviews on this film is great. Thanks to Craig also.
Another great review Scotty, so appreciated. The turntable was sizzling🔥🔥🔥 as was that look between them at the garage….you definitely can’t fake that!
Hi Scotty I have been watching and rewatching your wonderful heartfelt videos. I enjoy all of them the reviews as well as the different series. Always loved Viva Las Vegas one of my favorite Elvis movies. I will be eagerly awaiting your special anniversary episode you mentioned to premiere on 8/16/2023. That is a bittersweet day for me because it is also my birthday. Keep up the excellent work Scotty it is greatly appreciated. ❤️
It is strange that they never released an LP of the songs from VLV and only issued an EP. I quite like the slower version of VLV though. Didn't know that VLV was filmed before Kissin Cousins but released after - maybe that's why they didn't release an LP as the Kissin Cousins LP would have been released first. So glad that we have been able to hear all the songs eventually. Thanks for reviewing this film Scotty 🎧🎵🎤🎶💙
'Night Life' is a classic begging to be discovered. It is a scandal that it was lost from view. 'I Need Somebody to Lean On' is also sublime. 'Viva Las Vegas' would have been one of Elvis' greatest soundtrack albums. We can speculate on the reasons why it wasn't issued. I think certain people wanted the film sunk - they wanted cheap and cheerless, quick money for little effort.
Spot on Peter..it’s probably my favourite Elvis film..or very close..I have a couple of others. Night Life though..always a favourite of mine..the vocal is dirty boy
Love the detail you put into these videos, Scotty. Even down to the cigar! 😆I got a kick out of that! Didn't know all these interesting facts about Viva Las Vegas. Thank you very much for your research, compilation, and editing, and especially your narrative Scotty. Excellent 🏆🏆💯❣
Really great movie with wonderful songs. Fabulous chemistry between Ann & Elvis. Everyone knows this movie. Ironic since Vegas would eventually become his home 2X a year starting in 1969. Great job Scotty as usual!❤❤😊😊🎸🕺🏻🎸🕺🏻🎤🎤🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️
Beautiful video on a most beautiful combination. It was all kept under wraps at the time. I think it makes it much more beguiling. The connection very evident! Thank you Scotty and Craig👏💜💜
Man I love your keep up the good work. Your friends from Southaven Mississippi USA. I know we've never met but I feel like I know you and your brother take care for now keep the videos coming. Love the the records albums that you show on your videos😊😊😊
Do The Vega is a classic song..not sure what genre it comes under..kinda Latin in my opinion King of Rock n Roll meets the King of The Quickies, Sam Katzman who made Kissin Cousins." Make em cheap, make up quick ". That's Tom Parker for you. A Shot in The Dark and Dr Strangelove were his favourite films. Julie Andrews wanted to work with our Man but her hubby, I think is Blake Edwards was , quite rightly , jealous and suspected a possible romance. Elvis? Romancing his co stars? Never!!
Yes very true..our boy was like a cat on a hot tin roof..He had a roving eye..but less face facts..he wasn’t lacking in any department..it must have been easy for him. Even if he hadn’t been famous he’d have had them like bees around a 🍯
@@ScottysElvisPresleyMusicChanel did you know that our man used to go commando? He and Frank Sinatra were well kitted out in that department, so I read somewhere.
@@ScottysElvisPresleyMusicChanel everyone that has discovered your account. Love it immensely... If I had my way this would be played on all monitors throughout Graceland tours and Graceland guest house. If i knew how to make it happen i would not stop until/ EPE would make it happen
Amusing video Scotty 😀.... Really enjoyed watching this ! Great movie 🎬/ Great soundtrack! RCA / Parker ...really did drop a bollock by not releasing an album from the film ???? Baffling and pisses me off 😮! Ann Margaret ❤... Beautiful Classy Lady ! Great video 🎵🥂
I have a question for Scotty or for people who are knowledgeable about Elvis movies . It is very interesting to know if there are such movie numbers performed by Elvis that exist on films , as recorded for films , but never included there . And still , never released publicly . Who will tell me if Elvis has such numbers . Well , at least from this movie . The song - You're the Boss - was captured on film ? Exists in the archives b not washed away ? Not destroyed as a marriage ?
I have always heard and read that “ Viva Las Vegas” was the 10th biggest film of 1964, not #11. Just numbers tally, doesn’t negate the fact that it’s still an awesome movie. The hugest mistake Dipshit Parker and RCA never released a full soundtrack Lp.
Hot review buddy, smoke comming out of my screen 🤣😉 I do not own a FTD vinyl release but do the 3 cd FTD version. On mine the track list page on the back is peeling off 🥴
@@ScottysElvisPresleyMusicChanel It sounds fine. It just seems someone found out they forgot to put the track listing on the back cover and decided to print a seperate track listing and glue it to the back. There is an original printing on the back cover (I know because I can see it 🙂), just not the track listing. Why print the back cover and than glue a seperate track listing over it??? Wasn't Viva Las Vegas also the version with a bad cd which they had to make a replacement one for? Someone got fired during Viva Las Vegas 🥵😉
The reasons for there being no soundtrack album was Parker had Golden Records 3 waiting in the wings also Parker told George Sidney (Director) there would be no soundtrack album due to the preference Sidney was giving Ann-Margret. As Sidney pointed out to Parker releasing no soundtrack album would hurt a recording artist more than it would him. When A-M recorded the songs for the soundtrack she was told a soundtrack album would be released, sadly the politics between the director and Parker got in the way and it wasn’t meant to be.
Awesome review Scotty and Craig !! Late again as usual but I knew I'd make it before the day is over. It's Thursday night here and raining. Been miserably hot lately. I adore The movie and the song Viva Las Vegas. It always reminds me of my Angel mama. We'd walk for miles to see Elvis movies. Even though she was deaf...she still loved Elvis. 😍 Thanks again guy's for a remarkable review 👏 You're the BEST !!! ❤ ~~~Janet in South Carolina 🇺🇸
@@memphismaverick100 Oh, I'm sorry Craig..Tell Scotty I am sorry too. I got that feeling when his dog popped up on there. I thought that was cute , then thought, hey Scotty must be doing this one alone. I know at times you guys work together. I loved it. Please excuse my bad. 🙏 With warm regards. Janet.
Thank you so much for another wonderful review/ history lesson Scotty totally agree with you about this soundtrack should of been released as an album surely it would of gone to number 1 . Very exiting news regarding your recent acquisition of a CD player it will be fantastic to hear your CD reviews as well as box sets can’t wait all the very best to the very best cheers Carl .
Hi Scotty, love your channel. Did you ever make a video where you go over your audio equipment? Especially what receiver and speakers you're using? I'd love to know and see them more. They sound AMAZING!
The musical production numbers in Viva Las Vegas were fabulous. One of my favorite Elvis songs I need Somebody to Lean is done so beautifully. I enjoy watching your channel as you are such a wealth of knowledge and information about Elvis music and movies. So much fun to watch. Only Elvis ❤
Hey hey Scotty buddy :) how are you my dear friend ? missed your reviews , now thats a really beautiful Vinyl FTD ! Stunning cover all way around and great stuff....love this soundtrack, Elvis sure looks awesome , its right after ACAPULCO about 2 , 3 months later , i also think that if an LP released back then it was sure a GOLD AWARD ALBUM for the king , i guess the reason only an EP released its because of the ANN MARGARET effect, but its my guess.....Thank you buddy for this great video, show a Room tour please ;) looking forward for it, Cheers, your friend: Lior
I got a Phillips CD 850 Mk11..I used to sell these many years ago..I got a new old stock. Though it’s not in silver like the rest of my equipment..I got it for the sound Thanks buddy
@@ScottysElvisPresleyMusicChanel nice! - I use a 90's 1 bit Pioneer CD myself in my main office / music room. Look forward to seeing your reviews using it in the future
Scotty the shootout scene with Ann was not shot in Henderson. It was actually a location called Last Frontier Village by the Silver Slipper. You can actually see the large “silver slipper” in the clip you posted.
Super video Scotty and this soundtrack and movie are just extraordinary!! The FTD album is wonderful but that sessions set is AWESOME!!!! The sound is amazing and interestingly the Viva Las Vegas title song was recorded on two different days! Take 1 was at the end of July 9 and picked up the next day. OK think I’ll get my sessions box out and enjoy. Thank you!
Great review on this album I have all the CD collection soundtracks to every movie and I love listening to them. I was going to ask have you done a review on the Moody Blue álbum? That’s a special one for me I remember when he died I stayed up all night listening to that album trying to get it together. Healing my soul and mending my heart I tried Scotty but to this day I still have an empty feeling in me something that will never be right. I miss him watching him walk around the pictures his smile. TCB⚡️
Viva Las Vegas is in my top 3 favorite Elvis movies, and love most of the songs. I feel like Viva marks a point in time,a crossroads maybe, but its a mark in time. Before and after Viva.
Yet another lovely review my friend I really look forward to watching and rewatching all your wonderfully detailed and informative videos. Thank you so much ❤
