No choreography, fancy lights, fire, auto tune or anything else......just a guy with a microphone and a great band behind him and that's enough to entertain us. Elvis was a true performer.
Every time I see these videos I can't help thinking about how fragile time can be. He worked hard this summer, and was, very luckily for all, filmed. When they filmed him again two years later for Elvis On Tour, he was a completely different being. Yet again, in Aloha 1973, he was like a third reincarnation, different again. The Elvis we see here was never to appear again. And I think this is the greatest he ever was on film.
I loved Elvis On Tour (1972) and let me tell you something, Elvis worked VERY HARD during that time which also WON the 1972 GOLDEN GLOBE AWARD so before you shoot him down cause he didn’t fit into YOUR bubble gum mind of what is good, try learning a bit about touring, music and the entertainment business! The only thing I will agree with is that Elvis consistently changed.....but in a good, great way!!! Elvis On Tour is MAGNIFICENT (as his other shows are) & it shows Elvis working hard as he ALWAYS did since his early days of touring, traveling back roads and building his career!! He continued throughout his life working hard!! Until one has reached his level of success, (no one has) one should keep their ‘negative thoughts’ to themself!! To me, Elvis was always GREAT!! I always look to him unconditionally! One of the most tragic days of my life is the day he died. I loved Elvis before that tragic day unconditionally and I love Elvis since then unconditionally! I believe if you truly love someone you never set limits or hurdles. I love Elvis as much in 1977 as I did since his early days! Sorry, but you hit a nerve with me as though he wasn’t as good etc after TTWII. I get tired and frustrated with those comments that are frivolously thrown out there, often parroted from sensationalized tabloids! Please Try looking at Elvis as a human being who worked extremely hard, even in bad health. We all change through the years, that’s life, why criticize that. I don’t think most really comprehend Elvis’ achievements nor accept him as a human being (who we all know was a loving, caring, generous, humble man with God Given Talent, however he was still a human being) I wish you well my friend. ~ Adios ~ TCB⚡️TLC⚡️
@@elvisfan1971 And his energy continued thru the 70's..even more so in many instances...look at his fantastic shows in '71....'72 thru '75, etc....however, his body was maturing as one ages, plus the constant touring effects one's body as it does the voice/throat. He continued to tour amidst his chronic health ailments & chronic pain. TTWII are nice performances but there are better ones, where his voice is stronger, even operatic.(as in 1972 his award winning Elvis On Tour) As an artist, look at his talent, which was his voice....calming, beautiful & strong! Don't look if he could hop around onstage. LoL Elvis brought together/produced, by having an orchestra with a band & white & black gospel singers along with a soprano, and he was lead singer & THAT is not only Beautiful but MAGESTIC! Back then many other groups didn't understand why he would have all these groups together onstage, thought it would be too much....but then, AFTER HEARING the performances, REALIZED, My God, it works, it's beautiful, this IS magestic! Elvis wanted and did hit those hard to reach notes, as that was important to him! Many singers wonder at how easily he could reach those notes. How he could reach the high notes, then immediately go down. Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen & others have expressed that in interviews. Strange you can't see Elvis as a singer who sang deep from his heart and soul. Elvis wanted to share what everyday people are going thru by singing the hand picked songs. Elvis didn't care about jumping around onstage...he never practiced any of that offstage (as many other performers do)...he did rehearse his songs & organically moved from his inner emotions. He created a group & he called it Voice.... they were on call for him, anytime, anyplace, to sing for & with him & also performed with him in concert. Such a shame & loss for YOU that you haven't seen those other shows or understand who Elvis was. Also that you criticize someone that we know, you could never achieve even a second of his fame or talent. All you are is one of those who criticizes from the couch. You have No experience, No talent, No intelligence, You have No maturity. All you want is a monkey to hop around onstage and you think that's a good show. LoL I pray for your mind/intelligence/maturity to grow. You'll be a happier more fulfilled human being. Happy Holidays! TCB⚡👑 TLC⚡
Exactly...this is Elvis at his charismatic powerhouse peak. He is without doubt the King here....a being that people just swarmed to, all types, no matter gender....this man was a beacon....truly phenomenal performer. An ICON. Only Michael Hutchence had this similar effect on people.
@@p.j.morris633 oh that's luck! One day I wish I can visit Memphis and have an ice cream talking about Elvis ok? Love from Brazil, best wishes, take care ☺️
Ledia Rodhe my husband got me on Elvis. I’m 28 & I love him. I’m due in July & we plan on passing our love for him down to our daughter. He sings Elvis to her already while she is in the tummy & babygirl just kicks & kicks.
The aura, the charisma, the undeniable good looks......and THAT God-given voice. You just can't take your eyes off him. I can't comprehend how one individual can posses so much. How could it be.
Even at the end of his life his body failed him but his voice never did. My friend was awesome right up until the end of his life. Regards from the one and only Memphis Tn.
I believe and actually know that no matter what song Elvis sung it was better than any original and I don't usually like copies only originals however Elvis sang everyone to a different level !! That is why he is The King of music❤
It’s the “yeah” for me!!!! He seems so confident. That little smirk he gave you can tell he was feeling like yeah I got this!!! So cocky. He knew he sang the hell out of this song and he just simple enjoyed singing this song.
He still had that 68 power and gravel here. 70 was the last year that really had that. I always say 68, 69, & 70 Elvis is peak Elvis. Anything from those 3 years is gold. 68 is gold dipped in gold (the best), 69 is gold with gold sprinkles, and 70 is just gold, but it's pure 24k gold. From 71 onwards he was never the same. Still good though, I mean it is Elvis.
@@keimo2007 Name one you can compare with the same charisma, magnetism and stage presence as Elvis before and after him . . . . . no one even with today's artists. Admit it or not he had everything; the look, the voice, the moves, charisma, magnetism, stage presence . . . . everything, even better looking in person as most singers/celebrities said about him in inteviews like BB King, Sammy Davis, Jr., James Brown, Martin Sheen, Bruce Springstten, Madonna, Britney Spears, etc. Muhhamed Ali even called him the greatest, liked by black and white, young and old and men and women. Not to mention humble, respectful, a wonderful person who treated everyone equallly be it janitor or CEO, he was truly blessed. Sadly he took care of everyone but himself.
Who can watch Elvis live & not cry? So sorry for the generation (myself included) that missed out! What a singer, entertainer, gorgeous man & blessed soul! Rest easy the king. Your precious baby girl & grandson with you up in heaven!!!! Gone too soon xoxo
ELVIS VOCAL ARTISTRY AT IT'S BEST, THIS IS A LIVE MASTERCLASS PERFORMANCE, INSANELY GIFTED MAN, IM A STRAIGHT MAN, BUT IS THE MOST GEORGEOUS MAN THAT'S WALKED THIS EARTH, PERIOD., STAY SAFE, AUSTRALIA 🎉🇦🇺🇺🇲👌👍💯❤️
But boy when he did turn around it was like BAMMM! He was one good-looking son of a gun! I agree with Jerry Reed, "If I was a woman Elvis...I tell you what!" lol
Elvis and i were friends for 10 yrs. up until his death. I was a kid from Memphis how we met was a series of events that i will not go into He wanted a friend and so did i we were that for each other. i asked nothing of him and he asked nothing of me. Elvis did not make friends easily because more times than not they wanted something from him and for the most part he was right.. And as for parker all he wanted was money. Elvis was very ill his last time on stage he begged parker not to make him do it because he didn't want anyone to see him that way but did Parker care oh hell no. Between Parker who i hated and told him as much as i could how much. and the so called Dr. Nick pfft he was no better than Parker. i will always love and miss my friend. Love to you from the one and only Memphis Tn.
@@p.j.morris633 I'm so glad to hear he had a good friend in you. It's so sad how Parker worked him to death when he was so ill. Just breaks my heart and always will.
I'm sorry but some of the top singers in the world played Las Vegas. Garth Brooks and believe me he sold millions of cars and he is one of the top selling artists of all time so there is nothing wrong with playing Vegas so You are so wrong about Elvis and his fans don't care what you think
I’m just undone. The way this man sings this song OH MY GOD!!!!! My stomach fluttered I was just just just!!!! So sexy the way he sings this!!!! Can tell Elvis enjoyed singing it. I feel like them girls in the movie Elvis and just want to scream and pass out!!!!!!
One of my 429 favorites. His performance was super intense. The movie came in May, 1971. I was sitting in the theater almost every evening for 3 weeks. I was 26 back then.
The amount of soul, blues and total feeling in this performance is almost possible to grasp. Future generations will look at this and (hopefully) understand where man overcomes machines. This is truly a history book chapter.
The king, no one comes close, he was also humble, not an arrogant dick like everyone who is popular, he always signed autographs and appreciated his fans, greatest entertainer ever!!!
He said he can’t say no. They put the shirt on his back. The fans in his mind were his real boss. I wish artists today would learn a little bit of humility. So busy inlove with themselves!! Elvis would be disgusted at their behaviour.
I love him, love, love him!!! And this song I listen on loop so often 🥰 My favourite part is from the 2:12 min I think and the part where he sings about his suite beeing too tide 😂 He is just one and only performing such way to enchant and make jokes at the same time 🤩 ❤️❤️❤️

Elvis Nailed that song wow fantastic perfect every time he sings from his heart and soul beautiful man know one like him on this planet forever and always the King 👑👑👑👑💔💔💔💔😢😢😢💓💘💞💜🎸🌏
O Elvis foi um presente que a cultura mundial ganhou. Ele dava vida as músicas, cantava canções de outros cantores e na voz e interpretação dele ficava cada vez melhor. Ele tinha talentos múltiplos.
My dad loves Elvis and his songs and music he said it bring him back to his teenage days , but the drugs he was doing cut shorten the life of his fame and the KING of KING , but he always be in his heart for ever
+Cody Mangalsingh Your dad has some good memories. You have them ...those he shared with you. Hold onto that. And don't reply to haters. It's not worth it. My parents taught me well ... which is why I wouldn't reply to them either. Rise above. Enjoy the music...and life.

This is Elvis at his best, and he should have been doing ALOT more of these type of soulful songs at his shows instead of the cheesy, granny music he did. His roots were R&B, which he pretty much abandoned throughout much of his mid to later career. But when he returned to it, he was indeed the king.
2017 still watching and enjoying every second. I will always Love you! You were a beautiful, talented man there will be no other who leaves such an impact on our lives forty years after-their passing like Elvis has. Gone too soon.
