You guys are Fantastic! Thank You for being optimistic. So many people are skeptical about this, and are putting it down already. I can't wait to see this. Austin Butler looks and sounds Terrific! He has some big shoes to fill, he's spot on with Elvis' moves. Austin really did his research and practiced and practiced. Tom Hanks as the bad guy, right about that. Parkers real name is Andreas Cornelius van Kuijk, from Holland and of course living in the United States Illegally since he was 20 years old. Baz Lurhmann did a great job and also did his research, he will be respectful towards Elvis with this film. Hopefully, Austin can take home some big awards for his portrayal of The Best Entertainer that there was, and still is. Thanks for Sharing your reaction and thoughts. I heard the running time is 163 minutes or 2 hours 43 minutes. Take Care Guys.

I asdume you've seen it by now! I've seen it 4 times. Amazing what Austin did and he sings, he had to. The 50s recordings were unusable. What a big hit this is.

Awesome reaction!!! Just one thing... you said "No one ever saw someone move there hips like that" the truth is no one WHITE had seen it. Elvis grew up with Black poeple, going to Black churches and sang Black music. These poeple had been singing Rock and Rock before Elvis got there and taught him everything he knows, they just couldn't be put in the forefront because of the times, JIM CROW remember ? But seriously, Elvis was just the perfect vessel to bring that music to the mainstream so I just wanted to clarify that. Almost like Eminem with hip hop and how he made it acceptable for white kids to listen to it, Elvis did the same with Rock and Roll. His inspirations were BB King, Little Richard and many other black artists... James brown called him his soul brother. Elvis basically did black music for white poeple and white poeple controlled the industry and everything els and therefore he brought that music to the masses.

Elvis is the Greatest ever.. It would take the big bands sound of the 30's and 40's combined with Sinatra to equal 1 Elvis.. It would take Madonna, and Michael Jackson of the 80's combined to mean as much for pop culture as Elvis.. Elvis transcends it all, and that witll continue on and on after we are all gone..

This movie is supposed to show where he's from of dirt property, where he had the influence of everybody meaning all music yes Black culture blues Gospel and country, because Rock didn't exist yet but it's supposed to also show how a 19-year-old kid, was making $19 a week, by the time he's 22 years old in 1956 or January or 57 made $22 million, keep in mind Elvis never tour outside of America, yet he was worldwide known it was the number one entertainer of all, the movie I believe is going to show the relationship between the Colonel Tom Parker who was good for Elvis in the beginning but became the worst thing for him after 1965 thank you for your reaction

I saw the movie and it was amazing. It's hard to portray Elvis. It had to be good to get the approval from Elvis's family.

Austin Butler is naturally blonde and usually acts with his real/blonde hair; in case you thought you recognized his face. I've mainly like him in his Disney and ViaCom (including Paramount and Nickelodeon) stuff. But people would most likely know him from the Sex and the City prequel "The Carrie Diaries". He's also the male to have had the longest romantic relationship with Vanessa Hudgens, though they're not together anymore. And Tom Hanks is always remarkable.
