@@nickynap6238 Undercoating, even rust proofing, such as Ziebart did not address the problem. The body side moldings and around the rear window, especially on vinyl roof equipped models would trap moisture and start to rust. If you take the side moldings off you will see little nails (as we called them in the body trade) that a plastic clip would attach to, then the side moldings would be held in place. Extremely poor engineering.
@@dave1956 yes I agree that statement with rocker molding and under the vinyl top molding common problem for Caddy. Amazingly the Lincoln Mark V held up better for this area’s with rust.
Ok Bill…you’ve outdone yourself this time. I think this is either the most insane museum piece you’ve had or at least in the top 3. I mean really…1 owner, documents, original tires and the cherry on top…black with blood red leather interior. Insane! I don’t know where you find them but I’m glad you do. Congratulations! 👍
I used to daily drive my ‘73 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, selling it was truly an error! This one is as nice as you’ll see now that they’re a half-century old.
How is it possible that someone bought an expensive car like that and almost never drove it? Not the first time I come across this phenomenon, but it's still mind-boggling.
I know! They are out there and I am trying to find them and get them to market to people who enjoy them! I personally own a black 77 Trans Am. Bought it in 2001and I bet I have not put 2000 miles on it. Just trying to keep it MINT!
Whew! and such a rare color combo to boot! My father had a mint '72, but in the light cream/yellow "Willow" color with brown leather interior and top. These cars ride like a dream. In fact, they ride, steer, and stop so effortlessly that you need some time to get adjusted to it!
Hi Christian, it´s amazing how you can find all these unrestored unique classic cars with so few miles and in mint condition. This 1973 Cadillac De Ville is outstanding!
My neighbor across the street had one of these when I was a little boy. Bought it new. Only it was yellow. He traded it for a 1975 Coupe DeVille which was black with black interior. I LOVED that car. This one looks pretty well optioned which is unusual for the '73's still out there. Looks like trumpet horn, twilight sentinel, automatic high beam dimming, rear window defrost, power trunk pull down and tilt steering wheel. If he bought it from the original owner, they guy has to be in his 90's! If whoever buys it wants to drive it to shows or the occasional ride, NO WAY I'd leave 50 year old tires on it, especially with the weight of that car! I don't care HOW well they made them back then (they were bias ply by the way). Also, it may not have had any maintenance given the miles, but if it's to be driven, it's going to need several thousand dollars in repairs because things are going to start going on it! I had that problem with my '84 Coupe DeVille that had 23K original miles on it when I bought it.
Hey thanks for that input! So couple things, I would only recommend keeping the tires on it for originality purposes if you are going to trailer it and show it, NOT to drive it! And the car has been cared for and not just drug out of a barn. Service as been done and it will be ready to drive. Although as you said, anything can go out on a 50 year old car! Thanks.
Love those vintage Deville caddies my grandfather had a red on red 77 couoe de ville thise cars were the standard of luxury back then its like night and day compared to the new vehicle's
Beautiful. And one of my favorite year Coupe deVilles before the enclosed rear window. If you want the clock to work, send it out the clock works. I sent mine out of my 78 and now its ticking
You can hear the excitement in the salesman’s voice. As someone who was originally trained as a sales rep for Nestle back in the late eighties-what a great car to sell. Doesn’t get any better
Oh my gosh how do you find these cars. 73 was such a good year absolutely absolutely and you are right where are you going to find a car like this this is a money no object car you will never find another one like it
3,800 miles😳 WOOOO Ric Flair would approve too! LOL, All the original documentation, All Original and still so new that the interior looks Candy Apple Red with that black! Wow🙌 what a serious Pop this car gives off
You are killing me man! What a find! Geez you really do have the Midas touch with classic gems 🤜🤛 Dude it is MEGA refreshing to find a classic specialist such as you guys who really truly gives a dam about integrity, provenance and originality. What a pleasure to watch. One of these days you're gonna present something I won't be able to resist 👍

Beautiful Cadillac! My mother had this in the Sedan De Ville model was silver with same red leather interior. This car is amazing with only 3,800 miles, that’s crazy cool
You are correct about tires Bill. I work at a car dealer. Hard to get even 20,000 miles from today's junk. Does anybody even look where items are made today? Doubt it. I do. We had a set of Goodyears come in. Made in Chili. Like everything else today, new cars, tires, etc., all junk. Beautiful 73. I had a red on black leather 73 Coupe Deville 20 years ago. Never should have sold it.
Absolutely gorgeous, 😍 I'll take her over a new car any day. My parents had a '72 Coupe Deville, light blue color. First car I remember as a kid, I believe my father bought it in '77, I was born in '78. As a car enthusiast all my life, luxury cars was my favorite type of car, and that's how my love for Cadillac's got in my blood. I had 2 Caddy's in my life, had a '91 Deville Touring Sedan, and a '96 Sedan Deville. My dream car is a '59 Fleetwood or Deville, but I would love also a '72 Coupe Deville.
Had a ' 76 one owner Coupe De Ville sold it one 1/2 years ago . Nice condition NO rust Ex. light grey interior , Med. gray Exterior ! 45 K Orig. owners mileage ! Great cars they were with the 8.2 Iiter engine ! Bought a one owner Caddy Allante roadster .
My 73 Sedan de Ville was gold and black with black interior cloth though. It had 43,000 miles on her and was beautiful until my ex wife tore her up and I sold her. Just gorgeous this thing is, gorgeous!
Wow! you always seem to top yourself Bill! That is one incredible Coupe De Ville! I really think you have a time machine and are going back in time and transporting these cars to 2023! That's the only way this car can look like this. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it!
Absolutely stunning Coupe de Ville. Beautiful color combination, beautiful condition... Only thing I noticed is that the wheel covers are not correct. The ones on the car are for the 1974-1976 models. Otherwise it looks great !!!!
As good as you will find. Very few clocks seem to work, is it worth risking damage try to repair it? Some lucky new owner will have a mint condition addition to their collection.
This is a beauty that was well loved for, that's for sure. The red interior is perfect. Other then those seats get really hot, really fast, a great great car.
Awesome condition, I would definitely change the tires... but amazing, my 1st car was a 1973 Sedan Deville, I currently have an 88 Brougham and 91 D'elegance... this will sell quickly.
I wonder where this car was stored, over the years. I can not believe the steering wheel did not crack and gap. My fathers 1973 coupe in red with white leather seats steering wheel cracked after 2 years after being new. This has to be one of the best 1973s still around truly amazing.
When I was 16 my Dad had one of those, it was a 72 Coupe Deville. We really didn’t think much of how big they were. But now looking back on it those cars were huge.😂 He also had a 74 a 76 and a 78 Cadillac I drove them all and the best one in my opinion was the 72 Coupe Deville. 1973 was the last year that they were really nice after that in 1974 they had all kinds of pollution control BS on them and they were dogs from then on.
@@christianbugatticg you're welcome my nephew just called me he says he's buying a new Tesla for 90,000 not my cup of tea I rather have that caddy actually have three 70s a triple black Coop DeVille a Plum Coupe DeVille & a beige Sedan DeVille
Why would somebody buy a nice car like that and not drive it unless over 50 years ago some person alive got transported when they were no longer alive in the trunk to a different location in the car had to be hidden for a very very long time. Was it from New Jersey New York Miami-Dade Detroit by chance?
I OWNED THIS EXACT CAR SAVE THE FACT MINE WAS MIDNIGHT BLUE METALLIC WITH A WHITE TOP.A;SO MINE HAD THE DIVIDED FRONT SEAT INSTEAD OF THE BENCH SEAT PLUS RADIAL TIRES A $1200 OPTION. LIST $7,727.00 OUT THE DOOR $6200 NO SALES TAX IN THOSE DAYS
I wonder how many potential buyers looked at that but passed. The owner thought he had a miilion bucks but in the end it brought petty cash. Who'd want that? Should have bought the Trans Am!
Of course the clock doesn’t work, probably came from the factory that way. Should show the car with hood and trunk lid down. Also describe the engine. Call Jay, he’ll buy it.
Oh this the car i wish i could get my 401k out to buy this they but whith term oil with banks they wont let me get it but i had a 73 coupe in 98 dual mirror and hood oderment its rare you see that on this one dua mirror l hood ordentment this nice for a black one
