Just released from the Edison National Historical Park (www.nps.gov/edis/photosmultime...)
This is Emánuel Moór (1863-1931) playing some of his own composition in the autumn of 1889. Moór was a well-known pianist from around 1890 onwards, much concerned with the expansion of piano colour and sonority. Ravel was documented as most impressed by his "coloured" playing. This is a spirited performance of verve and panache.
