For anyone curious about the liquid eyeliners: I’m 29 and have been wearing liquid eyeliner pretty much every day since I was 14, so I consider myself a connoisseur lol. The formula is great in the sense that it is super long wearing on me and doesn’t smudge, the brush tip makes it so easy to apply, and I’ve had it for months and it has not dried out. My only criticism is the brown color- it’s sort of a watered down black. I wish it was a warmer, more saturated brown that truly reads as brown on the eyes
Thank you for this!!! I've been wanting a brown eyeliner but the best formulas only offer black, or when they do have brown it almost reads red. Do you have any recommendations?
@@mymagicemily I actually don’t have a good recommendation for brown. Black liners I have tons of recommendations, but I agree that all the liquid brown liners I’ve tried are pretty much black or red loooking
Unpopular opinion but personally I don’t care so much about the “value” of a product over it performing the way I want it to. I’m ok with having much less product in cream blushes if they’re highly pigmented and I recognize at best I’m looking for medium to buildable pigment l. Everyone’s different though, I just view value as unimportant in regards to utility. It doesn’t matter how much product you get unless you love it and use it
Would love a what I will be buying during Black Friday video!! So many amazing choices that Kackie suggests. Excel docs are a plus and fun throwback. ;)
could you try Ami Cole? it’s clean & Black-owned beauty by my friend!! i think the lightest shade will work for you and I’d love to see more non-Black women trying the brand out!
This was such a great, thorough brand review. And you're absolutely right, if you love Venetian Rose YOU ARE OBSESSED with Venetian Rose. There's no in-between! I love the formula of the eyeshadow palettes so I'm dying for her to come out with a basic, neutral color story. She probably won't because she's way cooler than that, but a girl can dream. Something like a Desert Sky palette with browns and golds and oranges. Is that too much to ask for!?
O..m..g! The clear lip cushion is the ONLY lip product I've completely used up and repurchased! I have a constant back up bc it can completely finish a full face of makeup or elevate a "no makeup" look! And it lasts on the lips like the tinted version but fills in lines and is, well, cushiony and comfy and super shiny like a gloss! I love most of her line, but this might be my #1!
I love the serum blushes with my dry skin and they are never sticky for me at all and I get wonderful pigment from them but honestly I’m having a hard time getting any product out and I hate the packaging so bad
Love when you do a face of makeup from a brand! Really helps for when they have sales on their websites. I haven’t tried anything from EC and this video helped a lot! Thank you for such a great in depth video. ❤️🤗
THANK YOU!!!!! So happy you did this video!!! I LOVE the SO Soft bronzer/contour sticks and the blushes!!! The Cosmic Pearls eyeshadows are AMAZING - I now own them ALL! I wear them alone, mix them with each other, mix them with my other palettes, etc. They are just great! However, I do, HIGHLY recommend an eyeshadow primer with them. It makes all the difference for longevity and no creasing if you have hooded lids! That venetian rose lip cushion looks so good on you, but dang it looks like a grey color on me, but I love the faded clementine.
Every time you said Luna, my dog (named Luna) would do the head tilt we all love to see! She is like who is that and why is she inside the computer lol
with the em blushes i do prefer to use a matte blush underneath and build them up higher on my cheeks as a blush/highlight thing and they're so pretty and blurring
I love how inclusive you are kackie! I just recently bought a bunch of the products from uoma by sharon c, and I really love the foundation and lip stains (you can use them on your eyes, cheeks, and lips). And I rarely buy makeup anymore lol
thank u for mentioning the shade range on the cushion, i noticed a lot of ppl rly love the brand and don’t seem to mention it about em. loved this video!! i’m planning what to get in case they have a black friday sale
Em cosmetics has become one of my absolute favorite brands in the past few years, so I love this! I love that you called the brow cream obedient 😂 it actually is! It has really been a savior for me and my half bald brows 😂 but I completely agree with you that the best products are the lips 😊💖
The lip cushions are gorgeous but they dry me out. Maybe it’s the hyaluronic acid. (Same thing happened with the Glossier Ultralip.) I might get Finding Ferdinand to dupe the Venetian Rose color (which is the exact same shade as Glossier Play’s Pony). Also, the matte lipsticks are the same product as the ones from BareMinerals, down to the scent, in case anyone wants different colors. I’ve thought about looking for the Em eye shadow formulation across other brands as well…I wear Magic Hour because it’s the easiest blend I have but it’s not the 100% best on olive undertones - that’s a major gap across the brand. Mostly I just want an eye palette in all browns, maybe a play off of the Terra or Pearl Tea sticks.
One of my peeves is the abundance of sodium hyrolaunic acid in all sorts of beauty products. I have lizard dry, middle aging, sensitive, psoriatic skin, and I notice no improvement by this ingredient, and in fact suspect it might be pulling moisture out of my skin in the semi-arid climate I live in.
Oh wow, and I thought I was a weirdo for feeling like the lip cushions dried my lips out too... The colours are lovely! But with the price point and shipping rates (I don't live in the US) it isn't worth it for me
@@agresticumbra I live in a humid tropical place and even HA dries my skin out. My skin is not particularly dry but is prone to dehydration, which HA definitely affects. My vit C has HA in it and I'm still finishing it up, what I do is I spray my face with plenty of water before and/or after applying it which helps a bit.
The thing about the serum blushes is you have to have a drier skin type for them to work optimally. I am combo skin with my cheeks tending to get pretty dehydrated, so these blushes work amazing on me. If my skin is particularly thirsty, they will dry down and still leave a lovely sheen. I will say they don't always play nice over certain foundation formulations, and will break down more emollient formulas and leave them a bit patchy.
Thank you for talking about the shimmer and the blushes! I'm not 20 anymore and just don't love the way super shimmery products look on me. Dewey is great but anything where you can actually see clear particles I can't handle. I love the formula of the bush sticks I just wish the one that looks so brown online didn't have as much of a pink tone when applied as it does. More people need to put out neutral blushes!
Thanks for the overview, Kackie. I love the packaging of em cosmetics, but she’s really keen about cones, and my skin doesn’t like it as top ingredients. The one product I still want to try, and with my uber dry, middle aged, highly sensitive skin, seems like it may be a good match, are the blush serum drops. I’ve got a lot of superficial redness, so sheer color doesn’t put me off I’m curious to see how it plays with products I already use, however. Lastly, I might try a lip pencil, but none of the other lip products (due to ingredients.) Thanks again!
I have officially decided that noone describes or even reviews products as beautiful as you do!! I dont even have to see the item or its color and I know exactly what you mean! Love you and your channel!!! ❤
Im waiting for holiday Kit from Em this year. Since my brother is US right now, and it is not available in my county. I hope i can get it this time. Thank u on your recommendation
I used to Michelle so much. Forever I looked at that site and finally tried the Magic Hour , a peachy highlighter like blush. I still have it it’s so beautiful. It broke a little and I was sad. I need to do another shop there. Thanks for the video on this.
Having finally snagged the so soft products, I’d say the texture is most similar to the Huda Tantour, but in a stick. They’re both just so extremely… creamy, like Kackie so accurately described them.
I get medium to full coverage with the cushion foundation. Rant but I’m so annoyed with the new tower 28 sunscreen foundation because it’s listed as a “tinted sunscreen” which makes people think it’s just a sunscreen and they don’t have to use any underneath but it’s a foundation with sunscreen in it. Idk that’s annoying to me but I want to try it! Hahaha
My favorite from the brand are the stick blushes and the stick bronzer and contour. Absolutely my go tos. I can't explain how amazing those products are.
I've been a fan of Michelle Phan for sooo long. I refer watch in high school and just admiring how flawless she is haha That being said I have never tried her products. To be honest I RARELY leave the house with more then lip glass or balm on. I love makeup but find it uncomfortable 98% of the time. Been trying to decide on a tinted moisturizer that doesn't feel sticky on the skin. Would you say this is a good option? I've watched your no make up faves like 6 times and can't decide 😂😂😂 also... these glosses... are they super moisturizing? Because my lips need help and lip balm isn't cutting it.
The day cream cushions actually has better coverage than what they advertise, but it needs to be patted on rather than dragged on if you want to build coverage. I love this product but I totally agree they could use more shades.
I find that the mascara does not hold my curl at all. 😩 I do think that it is a lovely formula but that’s after the product has some time to dry out. It was entirely way too wet upon opening. 😣 I will use it up but I much prefer the Hourglass mascara over this! However, the next tubing mascara I’m going to try out is going to be the VB mascara. 😍
I actually have really good luck with thr liquid blush. It's great for my dry skin, super pigmented, blends beautifully, and dries down great for me without setting powder. I can't use any other blushes now
So im looking at the "bronzer" sticks and was wondering if you could get the next shade terra. its much cooler but the website says its for fair skin too. so im assuming its like the cooler but not deeper sister.
I am definitely her mascara customer 😂 I love this formula. BUT the brush is so fluffy that it makes it almost too difficult to apply, especially when you’re in a hurry (which I usually am…). I wish she would fix the brush so I can use it!
I know you would prefer a response from Kackie, however I highly recommend checking out Kevyn Aucoin's blush techniques. He hasn't failed me yet! I hope that helps or at least gives your comment some visibility.
I agree that their lip products are amazing, although the lip liner never sat well with me. The initial launch had a narrow range of colors and when they did come out with a deeper brown liner (Foxy), the shade gap became even more clear. It’s a shame because the other products feature a beautiful array of colors that work on many skin tones. From burnt orange, rosy pinks, bright reds, to deep berry tones - I feel like the lip liners wouldn’t work with a lot of their existing items. In my opinion they missed the mark on the lip liners, especially because I know they can do great things with color. The lip liners don’t seem like they’d work well with people who have more pigmented lips and a medium to deeper skin tone. Not to mention they have a lot of products that would benefit from a lip liner pairing (ex. the True Gloss in the shade Moroccan Sunset is great, but on me when I wear it alone it’s very vibrant). *From what I can tell they’ve grown as the Cosmic Pearl line seems lovely. I look forward to seeing Em Cosmetics develop and hope for more diverse shades in the future. This was a great video and love your comments on the Faded Clementine Eyeshadow Palette :)
I like the serum blushes, like not love, like I love the thrive sticks and the so soft blush sticks, , but the package and delivery system is so bad. I ordered two and one wouldn’t even work. I hope they go back to the drawing board with those. Maybe more like the Daniel Sadler water color ones.
Em Cosmetics used to ship to EU but they stopped. And it is very frustrating, because I would love divine skies venetian rose eyeshadow palette (i own magic hour and love the formula) but I can not get it anymore because they unfortunately stopped shipping to EU.
the lip clouds are invaluable n bat in the same weight class as luxury lipsticks. how's the sheerness of the cushion compare to the Glossier skin tint? I hate using GST as a metric but it's been a yr now n I still haven't found any tint that I like as much as I like the Glossier one. specifically how sheer it is. I'm absolutely ok w v minimal coverage. pls halp!
glossier is very sheer, em cosmetics has more coverage and I would say is light to medium. it doesn’t look heavy but covers redness well! Sam Ravndahl has a few videos using it and you can see how well it covers redness / get a good idea of the coverage
I NEED the Em cosmetics matte liquid lipstick in Morning mocha but it's out of stock. Like I NEED it not want it lol but does anyone know if a dupe? Even if it's just a color dupe. I really really really need to at least find a color dupe! I checked out Temptalia and she has no dupes! I'm so sad!
I don't buy Em Cosmetics because I don't like the owner. Same like I don't buy Too Faced, Huda, Jeffree Star or Kylie Jenner cosmetics. I hate the owners.
