great video. thanks for the shout-out cant wait to get all the parts to build mine. maybe by then v1.5 is out. will love to see WSJT-X and Fldigi integration
Yup, Pi Zero. 10 bucks. you can overclock them, or look into profiling applications to run a bit smoother with nice levels. Getting rid of the desktop is a big win too. all headless.
Thanks for the videos you share! I will love to build a digi pi, but can't find a sound card, tho I have a usb sound card. It's possible to build a digi pi with a usb sound card? May you point me to a tutorial? Thanks in advance! Jorge
A usb dongle uses mic-level inputs. Try it! but it may be overdriven, maybe put the radio output volume to zero? there's a "voltage divider" idea floating around to make these work as well. Line level is more ideal. You should be able to get the audio hats. www.wb7fhc.com/order-nexus-now.html www.amazon.com/Audio-Injector-Zero-sound-Raspberry/dp/B075V1VNDD/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=audio+injector+pi+zero&qid=1629236893&sr=8-1
Is there a second option to use this attached to a USB connected hard TNC? I'd like to be belt and suspenders as my station and radios already have Kantronics TNCs connected. Thanks!
The Pi does the job of the Kaltronics. Some of the digipi stuff connects via a KISS interface to direwolf. can the kaltronics do KISS? it could replace direwolf?
@@KM6LYW Yes it does KISS fine. I know the sound card can do all this but since my radio is wired for the TNC on 2 stations I wondered if it would interface with the hardware TNC also. Skipping the software TNC altogether.
