I've always used plastic straw over visco as a safe connection to quickmatch, even used aquarium airline over visco to make quickmatch when a buddy miscalculated his needs.
Never remove the shroud, apart from the fact it directs the flame it also protects the match head from friction and impact. Out of all these ways the last one is safest. Shroud on, lie it down, fold the black match over and half hitch then secure with tape.
I've got that EXACT same tape dispenser, just using different tape. Great instructional video. Have you updated this at all? You could use a 1/4" poke and slide the match (shroud and all) straight into the quickmatch as well after opening it up with the brass poke.
@@PaulsPyro No my shrouds on my matches are too large to fit in my quickmatch. I have an ample supply of the plastic ports for the few shells that I use that don't have ports on the leaders. Most of my product has ports.
No. If by pinch you mean to somehow crimp the shroud that is very dangerous, it can set off the match head. You can just stick the visco fuse in the shroud and tape it, but that is not the purpose of the shroud. If you did do that you DON'T want to try to shove the visco tightly between the match head and the shroud, to hold it in place. That risks setting off the match head by friction. The shroud is there to protect the bare match head from inadvertent ignition by friction or impact, it is NOT a visco connector. See my other video, "Ematch to visco connector"
Lol no i would crimp the match head that would b bad no i lay the fuse down and then pull the shroud over it prob just best to poke it with a brass poke and do it that way so much to do so little time
