The Thrustmaster Hotas setup - stick/throttle/pedals - has been a workhorse for me. I can't compare it to anything else though. For the most part it has made flying enjoyable and with a reasonable degree of nuance. There are a few issues I do have with it: • Sensitivity settings do not get saved when you do a full exit of the sim. I've heard they have a fix planned, but not sure when. Those sensitivity settings are definitely needed and it's a bit of a pain setting them up each time the sim gets rebooted. • Throttle detent is pretty grabby. I'd say I lose 2% of usable movement on either side of the stop. Wish it were more subtle. • Throttle friction is otherwise too loose. It holds just a bit where you but it but will easily flop to 100% if you move the stand, and readjusts too easily when you depress any of the buttons on it. I've added pieces of electrical tape to the surrounding slot to help with better friction. I've seen others use counter-tensioned rubber bands lol ... anyway, that's a notable flaw in my opinion. • Rudder pedals are a bit sticky in the friction department and it leads to some jerky movement at times. The way I have my sensitivity settings helps dampen that somewhat, but at some point, I may try some ptfe lubrication or similar solution that I think others have done to help with that. I've had my eye on that Velocity One too for future option, but don't yet have a desk setup in front of the TV that would be good to latch it to. Might figure something out at some point. Hope that helps!
I should add that by using the ABXY buttons, trigger and two button on right side of the throttle as modifier keys, I'm able to get a lot of extra function from the hat stick besides view adjustment. Depending on the modifiers, I can have it adjust pitch trim, COM1/2 and NAV1/2 frequencies, CDI1/2 heading, HDG bug, prop levers, fuel levers, & autopilot altitude/speed. So that versatility has been great to keep a lot of key functions local to the HOTAS. Still need the keyboard & mouse though.
@@BeltOfVenus Thank you for your time! Yes, I'm hesitant on the velocity one because it's hard to build a tv setup (i was considering car racing stands but that adds another 250€ to a 400€ yoke...); I'll wait a bit more, let's hope more is coming for xbox (I mean def coll stuff alòready came since also the boeing yoke arrived but very pricey aswell)
