Great explanation! If you’re not a pilot, Kip, you should be. You explain this stuff better than I ever could, and I’m a retired airline pilot. 😁

I'm just a weekend bugsmasher and an inactive one at that, but I agree. Some of these simulator tutorials blow the paid instruction I got out of the water. I used Flight Simulator X to practice IFR and navigation as a student pilot, and by the time I took my first cross-country solo I had already practiced it three times on the computer. Videos and communities like this are where the internet adds real value.

@@KaiTakApproach I'm studying now, and between sportys online school, then referencing some of these MSFS tutorials, it makes the real world stuff that much easier to understand. I just watched a simple video on VORs because I thought I had it, but couldn't figure it out. Perfectly clear now.

I can't describe how perfect this video is for a guy who is trying to make sense of it all. So beautifully explained and articulated, with visuals to match. You zoom in and explain why you're doing what you're doing and it's just amazing man. Thank you, you truly are a great creator and instructor. Glad I came across this channel.

Just getting into X-Plane and was struggling to get the ILS to control the altitude but your explanation made it clear you have to HIT or cross through the glide slope. The APR mode wont take you TO the glide slope. So thanks for helping get my head around that small detail.

Kip, I wish you make ground school videos for my PPL and coming up IFR ratings, maybe even all the ground school videos(multi, commercial, ETC). Your videos are really well made. They are very well explained in detail step by step and well-made visuals. Thanks for making these videos, even though it's for Flight Sim it's still definitely can be applied to real-world aviation. You are really helping me out. Keep the videos coming!

Great series of instructional videos! This one in particular was well explained and unlike a lot of 'how to fly ILS' vids I have tried to wrap my head around, easy to follow. I will admit to a couple of crash and burns before getting the hang of it, however. Many thanks and please continue providing this very useful information - which is of particular interest and importance to us new to the world of flight simulators.

That was lovely. Just one thing on the ILS instrument: I believe the center ball represents the airplane, that's why you need to turn left if the vertical bar is on the left. You said it but I just feel the ball = airplane part allows me to visualize what the instrument actually means

I'm very impressed by this video (will view some more:). Your explanation is build up perfectly, to-the-point, paced just right, with a very pleasant voice. It's like a speed course into these matters, with a logical, sequential approach, without being overwhelmed with info or non-relation remarks. Amazing value! (My background. I'm playing MSFS2020 in VR. Used to just fly around, but have now (Jan 2023) embarked on an epic VR journey CapeTown-NorthPole in a Beechcraft G58 Baron ... I felt the need to learn the instruments, starting with the AP because it's a long journey and I need the/some automation for endurance. So from learning some basic AP, I gradually want to learn more. Hence e.g. the ILS. I found your video. And well ... impressive. I feel I need no more than your explantions. Thanks👍❤)
