(Part Two) In today's video it's embarkation day on our first Norwegian cruise! This is a seven night alaskan sailing on the Encore with stops at Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, Victoria BC and Glacier Bay. I also give you a cabin tour of our club level family suite on deck 15. Plus, I go into detail about the amenities that you get with staying club level and the free at sea promotion. Finally, it's time for dinner at Los Lobos which is a signature restaurant onboard the Encore to celebrate Cinco de Mayo! Before calling it a night we quickly share our first impressions of NCL. I really enjoyed the Encore/Alaska videos. My wife and I are currently sitting in the observation lounge on Encore waiting to depart Seattle for Alaska. I feel like I've been here before after watching all your videos, lol. Embarkation was one of the smoothest and fastest we have ever experienced on a cruise. We did purchase priority boarding and the whole process took 15-20 mins from entering the terminal to walking on the ship.

My husband and I went on an NCL Panama Canal passing for 15 days. We had that class of room and it was perfect for us. I wanted the larger bathroom and a little more space and papering during the trip. You did not mention the shower has jets that can be a nice addition to your shower. We got the Key which gave us express embarkation and disembarkation. We got on the ship in less than 20 min. We ate at Cagneys and Los Lobos twice. They were the dining experience that you seek on a cruise. We ate most of the dinners aside from that at the Manhattan room which was the fancier choice for main dining. Taste and Savor were breakfast and lunch preferred.

I hated my NCL experience. Nickel and Dime for everything!! The main dining room food was inedible. You have to pay for the up charge “specialty” dining to get anything remotely good. Service was mid and entertainment was meh. I’ve been on 15 cruises on many different lines. The only way to do NCL is to buy a dining package and get a suite or above but that prices a lot of people out compared to a Carnival cruise where more is included with the base rate. I’d rather cruise Disney if I’m paying a premium price.

@@PCDevI was so surprised by how much I liked Carnival. We usually go on HAL, RCCL, or DCL but the post-pandemic pricing on Carnival was too good to pass up. Granted, we went on a newer ship (Panorama) so we had venues like Guys Burgers. The quick service food on Carnival may be the best we’ve ever had. The Fun Squad really is fun. My favorite part of Carnival are the deck parties. I’m so sad I let booze cruise/low class reputation keep me away from Carnival. We’ve already gone back twice and have a third planned for their private island in 2025. Also, we sail as a multigenerational family and the teenagers loved the clubs and activities more than they did on Royal. 👍

Club suites do not get their own entry or their own area and they are interspersed with non-club balcony rooms. We stayed on deck 15 in a standard balcony room and were 3 doors down from our friends who were in the club suite room. The only physical difference between the rooms was the size of the bathroom. And the club suites are on many different levels, they aren't exclusive to deck 15.

The limited number and adult only requirements are the reasons I always book the thermal. (Plus the sauna refresh after all the drinks the night before.😅) The Local or some of the other served options are your included go-to for embarkation day and there is usually breakfast offered at three or four other restaurants to help spread out the crowd. You can't get into happy vacation mode with all the people in the buffet. Since they can't start disembarking passengers until they get the okay from the port you have to always be prepared to wait if you arrive at the earlier embarkation times. Mid-day to an hour and a half before all aboard is probably the way to go, unless you want to record content before it's more crowded. You'll miss the crowd that shows up almost at all aboard time that way, too.

NCL has a bad reputation in the cruise vlog community but I love NCL. Good food, fun atmosphere, lots of entertainment and activities but it’s not cheap. I’m excited for an Alaskan NCL cruise later this summer. Cheers

If you didn’t know NCL is one of the few cruise ships that will bring a coffee maker to your cabin for balcony and above. Not sure if they have it automatically on that ship but you just need to ask your cabin attendant.

We cruised with Norwegian. We flew to Honolulu and boarded the ship to sail to the different Hawaiian islands. Great cruise.

Living in the Pacific Northwest I have seen the Orcas from the bar I go to and also on the ferry on the way to a Seahawk game but very excited to close on my house in Ocala tomorrow and become a Floridian! I went and saw the Manatees at Silver Springs a couple of weeks ago and that was also pretty awesome.

Oh man, I’m telling you the truth I love! Alaska! Sooooooo darn beautiful! But funny was that I never been or see the glacier before I wanted to see it but I did not know that NCL cruise go to Alaska wow so cool. I’m so so exciting about going on NCL on brand new Aqua coming in 2026 Aqua cruise be out in April 2025 but will be on the cruise on February 8-15 February in Miami Florida! I’m going to flying to Miami for the first time can’t wait I booked! I am a big fan of the Norwegian Encore; I had a friend who sailed on it in March! The waterslide going off of the edge of the ship blows my mind. Norwegian was my first-ever cruise experience and I agree with you regarding food quality. Starlink is fantastic as well. Sorry to hear that Embarkation was rough. Hi... Me I have made 2 cruises with Carnival and 2 cruises with Costa. And in April of this year, the 7 to the 19, I've tried with Norwegian Getaway. Wow! What a ship. I love it sooo much better than the other two cruise lines. But, I liked the other to for other things but, for the food, the staff, the activities on board, the water slides etc I've prefered Norwegian. It is a very good cruise line.I recommand it to everyone who want's a good cruise line...good quality and good prices. Love your videos. May God bless and protect you and your families.❤

We took NCL Bliss a couple of years ago. This was our 3rd time to Alaska. The ship was beautiful and the staff so nice. However, NCL built their own ports outside of the towns of Juneau and Ketchikan. This made it difficult and extremely time consuming to get to those towns. But, let’s see what you guys think. 😃

If your in the haven, you don't have to wait for your room and you get to skip the lines for checkin and you get to be first off/on the ship at the ports. plus you get a jaccusi tub in the suite. I was on the Escape which is similar to your ship. haven even has it's own pool and restaraunt. The checkin was so effort-less with haven. I highly recommend it just to pass the lines.

Good to hear you guys enjoyed embackation day on NCL's Encore. I have cruised on NCL 3Xs in 2024 to the Miami -Caribbean-ENCORE, Rome -Greece, Spain & France - EPIC and Seattle -Alaska - SUN). I love the food. I alwsys purchase the Free At Sea Plus and additional specialty dining in advance so I never eat in the buffet. The food is great; Overall I have had good experiences!

We cruised on the Encore to Alaska in 2021. My wife and I have been on 10 NCL cruises and that has earned us Platinum status (many perks). I was not really looking forward to Alaska because I am a shorts, flip flops and pool deck kind of guy but man it was our best cruise yet!!

Yes. Wife and I did the NCL PRIDE. Hawaiian Cruise. I thought the ship was fantastic. My had mixed feelings. All in all, we’ll do NCL again. We’re doing an Alaskan cruise next year, Lord willing. Going with RCCL. I watched your video from last year as well. 😊

My Wife and I love NCL, but we avoid the large ships. We have sailed on the Encore, Pride of America, and Spirit. We have a New England trip in October on the Gem, and next year Alaska on the Jade. Suites are the way to go. This Fall will be in the Haven. We have never had a bad cruise with NCL.

I was on NCL Breakaway last week in The Haven, and my gimbal and ear buds were stolen and never made it to my cabin. First time on NCL and cruised 40 times and never had anything stolen. Other than that we enjoyed the Haven. I love your videos!! Always excited to see you and Bianca. Enjoy!!

Did you find that the beds were hard on the Encore? We had a regular balcony room back in February and the bed was so hard that my hip hurt by the end of the cruise from how hard it was. Other than that we loved the Encore.

I love NCL. Los Lobos is a favorite of our, especially the table side guacamole and the churro tower. The military appreciation is the best in the business too. They sail out of New Orleans Oct-March , which you need to try. Cruising for about 8 hours down the Mississippi River is amazing.

Just came off this ship. Gotta say the buffet was better than the main dining food. Taste of India was killer! Ocean Blue was very good as well, the sea bass was perfect. But seriously, the Garden Cafe has some amazing options. Yorkshire Pudding!! Never seen that on a cruise before.

Yall cruised the same week we were on NCL BLISS. 1st time cruiser, and the embarkation was very Rough.. we waited and waited. TILL we finally got our room. Other than that, and the disembark that was not fun either. Food, shows cabin stewards excellent!

We went on an NCL Cruise (Encore) to the Bahamas from Miami last year. The boarding AND disembarking process needs alot of work, which you’ve by now probably experienced. It’s total chaos. The color coding does NOT work.

We sailed on the Sister Ship NCL Bliss 2 months ago, we found the ship beautiful, food high quality and consistent. Our only complaint was more to the overall service we received from the room attendant and since we were sailing with our kids the "kids menu" was severely lacking options. Found the rooms good overall but you really can't have any more than 2 (3 if under 10 Y/O) in a room. This was a Mexican Riviera cruise and hope to try NCL on their Alaskan Itinerary to hopefully change a bit of my mind as far as NCL goes.

Dev, good to see my favorite couple. I just watched your video, you got my blood moving about your trip. Yes, my wife and l did sail on Norwegian many times to the BAHAMAS, enjoyed everything food ,drinks,shows ,and speciality dinning. As far as the room ,we had some rude people around us loud many nights l spoke to or room guy he said he would talk to his boss about it , well they didn't waste time ,l didn't see them or hear them again,so that was nice they took care of it. But we had a plan balcony with accessible room l'm disable Dev, old war injury. So are Club level suites bigger, l don't need a lot of space l use a walker so l need some extra room. But it looks like your room is perfect for us. I'm just concern about price, you know what talking about SSI for me. Well good night my Brother and Sister happy sailing ,God Bless and enjoy you selves . It’s crazy to think that the American Cafe wasn’t complementary until January of this year. I’ve sailed on NCL a few times and the American Cafe was empty every time I went by. The buffet and O’Shehans/Local were always packed and had long wait times. On our trip in Dec 2023 I said to my husband, that I didn’t understand why they didn’t cut down the menu at American Cafe and just make it complementary. Sure enough… 2 weeks later they announced just that. I think that was a great decision on NCL’s part.

You are not kidding about instantly falling in love with Alaska. I am currently on the Disney Wonder in her first Alaska cruise of the season. Right now I have 7 more after this one. Just love Alaska but that 4.95 room service charge is complete BS

I am not loyal to 1 cruise line but NCL is my favorite. I feel they are the best value most of the time in the mass market cruise category. I can sail out of Galveston on similar itineraries in a oceanview balcony on the Prima with drinks/dining/wifi for less about $400 less than the Harmony OTS without any of those. Then adding the RCCL drink package is at least $1,100. Also, I find the vibe to be better on NCL which I attribute to the solo cruiser they target that are looking to meet new friends and have a good time. NCL is not without their faults though and I know they can frustrate some cruisers with their decisions.

We've done two cruises on NCL and love it. We did a Mediterranean cruise, Spain, Italy, France, Monaco on the Epic and we've recently done a Caribbean cruise on the Jade. Love NCL cruises. Would love to do the Alaskan cruise one day 😊

We cruise almost exclusively on Norwegian cruise line. And in fact, I did my first Alaskan cruise in October of last year on the Bliss. Shoulder season we were the second to the last cruise before the season ended. It was cold and rainy and delightful. I can’t say enough good things about Norwegian, and I’m really glad that you and Bianca got to experience the raw beauty and the majesty of Alaska and the insane exquisite beauty and high quality of Norwegian Cruise Line. I just missed you! I was on the Encore for the 21 day reposition cruise. Miami to Seattle. My first with NCL because I heard great reviews for solo travelers. I stayed in the studio solo cabins. Nice and compact but great use of space. Loved the freestyle dining. Los lobos was great. I also had the steak. Texas Q was good. Teppanyaki was fantastic and my fav was Cagney's steakhouse. But yes that Cuban dish was 🔥🔥 they also serve it in the Local. I will definitely cruise NCL over and over.

I did a Caribbean cruise on board the Encore last year. I absolutely loved it! If you are cruising someplace warm, I highly recommend renting a cabana at the Vibe. It is yours and yours alone for the week.

You two made me laugh with the champagne. I’m with you…I don’t like the dry champagne, but the sweet champagne is so good. Hopefully you took a picture of the bottle so during your wedding…you know what to get.

For NCL, embarkation out of Miami where they have their own terminal is a bit smoother. I cruised on the Encore in November and the Breakaway in January.

Great to see you're enjoying it. I went on this ship a few years back and I'm booked for next March for spring break. My daughter loves the ship. Food and staff is do great on NCL.

I got to go on my first cruise right before the pandemic hit, with NCL - and I will agree with the chaos of onboarding. Mind you, we were sailing out of NYC so you know that chaos was to be expected. Otherwise everything on the ship itself was lovely including the rooms, the service from staff and the food. Our favorite was the hibachi on board - amazing dishes and the cook was super entertaining. Also the 24 hr gelato spot at the time was a PLUS! So glad you both seemed to enjoy your cruise, and so happy you were safe after the incident on board!
