Embarking on an Epic Motorcycle Journey: Doin' it Baja (Part 1/8) 

Les Haserot "Baja King" was doin this run every year in the 40's when the "roads" were little more than old cart paths. He used to soak his bike down so all the bolts would rust so the old Harley wouldnt fly apart on the heavily rutted paths.

Color me incredibly inspired... and sad that I can't find like-minded modern Harley riders here in Nashville that are under the age of 40.

🌵🌵 I enjoyed the hell out of this little flick but the Cannucks obviously don't know phuck-all about the desert. It actually pissed-me-off when Harvey Foster, took his machete to the stalk of that Century Plant that was almost to bloom. Crap like that will give us Gringos a piss-poor reputation and you'll phuck it up for everybody. Have some phucking respect‼ I'm oilfield trash and even I know better than that.

I agree mate!!! This guys riding in a big group and freaking out during this baja ride??? don't get me wrong, its a great adventure and I loved it when I did it. But mates, baja is no different from the US, in fact its a "free zone" meaning you can drive down from California with minimal requirements. 4 years ago I rode my v Strom 650 from los Angeles to la paz, 2up and it was awesome. Then took a ferry to mainland mexico (mazatlan), we rode about 3 weeks through Mexico, then a month to cross central America. In Panama we took a ferry to colombia and 6 months later, I had to sold the bike and we flew back to Los Angeles. how I did it? fuck!! hell of a ride. we worked, volunteered, he faced dangers and went through a lot of pain. I was 26 years old and an inexperienced rider while my now wife is asian American, but im fluent in spanish. Yeah it was stupid, but I would do it again if I could. That changed my our life but one thing I can assure you, I never freak the fuck out. You fucking cant!!! ride safe mates, love from California.

So scary riding through Mexico with a whole film crew, guide, support vehicles, and any amenities one could think of. Loins, tigers and bears, oh my!

When they talk about going into mexico like it's the last frontier I think about the mexicans crossing the border to usa, on foot, through deserts and shit, ending up in a country where you not welcome and where you must work your ass of to survive. That is a story truly worth telling.

I don't ride but I would really like to do a Baja trip in my beater of a Bronco and take a lot of back roads which all the travel guides say not to do but I never was much good at following rules.

You could have done more profile interviewing because none of your viewers really actually wanted to see more of the actual ride.!!! As a woman I have ridden down the Baja twice and compared to the rest of Mexico it is a child's playground so what's with all the 'danger' talk. If you deleted all the words such as "fuck" and "like" you would have had more room for footage of the most beautiful part of Mexico. The sound of the pipes was the part I liked best. :-) Just sayin'.

not really a group I would hang out with, but at least they got together and did a great ride, and made a good video. I've never ridden that far, and never crossed the border- so I can imagine all of those things are a little unsettling the first time you do them. They could have / should have planned a little more, but overall it was entertaining to watch.

I ride a bike and i live 5 mins from the TJ border and even i haven't done this ride yet. dam I guess i got some planning to do.

I love this video. It inspired me to buy mu first bike. 4 bikes later and a serious near fatal accident (got tboned) I regret nothing.

. Moral of this story: If you want to avoid dirt roads, on your street bike, don't go to Mexico. .

No doubt people can express their opinions but i'm tired of people thinking that it's easy to film long, interesting documentary's one after the other. Naturally these things take time and in that time we get more free content, which; indisputably isn't as exciting but I would say it's bloody well interesting. If you don't like the content in between the major documentary's well just simply go off and watch something else. If you don't like the reporters then fine, go watch something else.Genius

Ok let's analyse the situation here on Vice. Here we have a free channel providing free content to it's viewers. It does not focus on one particular area but rather provides a diverse choice in the content that it makes. That's from gay strip clubs to the battlegrounds of Syria; you are not obliged to watch their videos and Vice is not obliged to cater to you. So people, whether they release content day by day or if they produce videos that you may find pointless, don't freak out.

I suppose it's part of making sure people see their videos/channel. If you can dish out 8 parts you have a pretty good bet that in the 'related' box people at least notice that it exists. Again, comes down to ad money I suppose. Sure it would be nice but I don't think it's worth complaining about considering all the finance, planning, filming and editing they have to do.

Once again Vice hits a home run !!!!!!! A couple years ago I was lucky enough to do a similar trip through the Baja and it was a life changing experience for me, watching this takes me back to that time. Thanks for this vid !!
