it was absolutely the others trucks fault by the end of the episode, the other driver admits they were trying to beat the them to the scene "come hell or high water"

For all, of you who haven't watched the full episode, 81 was not at fault and Joe was driving through a yellow light. 66 rammed through 81. You can see in this video around 0.50 split second on the side mirror of Joe (81) that the light was in fact in yellow.

To everyone arguing about this. Emergency services are allowed to run red lights as long as they have seen the way is clear and that it’s safe.

81 had right of way; light just turned yellow. 66's light signal was on red; regardless of lights and sirens activated, when approaching a red signal, you must always slow and check the intersection for traffic prior to proceeding. 66 was in the wrong. But either way unfortunate incident and covered by workplace indemnity-insurance.

In reality this is why emergency crews have sirens and DON"T blow through lights. They have to slow enough to check the intersection is clear before they go through the light, whatever the color may be.

It was the fault of 66 as they were the ones that crashed to 81. Poor Joe. At least on the bright side it made him go on Squad and made Otis to FINALLY drive 81 as it was his dream. But thank god no one died 🙏🏻

Cruz went on a yellow light . SPOILER ALERT In the episode the chief of the other house shows Cruz vid of him blowing a red light couple of blocks before the crash. I dont undertsand his point.They ar4e going to a fire they have lights AND sirens on people see them and hear them He doesnt really need to stop at a red light Slow down? I watched the whole episode, they don't figure out if the light was red, but a few blocks back he ran a red light so the crash is on him. But after the other driver wakes up he admits that Welch gave him a nod which he took as do everything possible to beat 61 to the fire. Taking all blame off of Cruz.

You can actually see at 0:51, when they switch to the wide shot to show the collision, Firetruck 66 was driving through a red light. However, in the front shot a few seconds later at 0:54, the light was also red for Firetruck 81. The entire crosswalk was red!!!

As many have pointed out if you pause the video at 0:52 and 0:53 you can see both trucks had red lights. There seems to be some confusion as to who was at fault. Now whilst emergency vehicles are permitted to drive through red lights, there are still rules. According to Joe's statement, he had a yellow/red light. Therefore Joe still had right of way for 3 seconds after receiving a red light. Truck 66 should have slowed down at the red light to avoid oncoming trafffic, like a give way sign. So Truck 81 was not at fault.

The way blondie and his crew were blaming Cruz right from the beginning when it wasn't entirely his fault... At least blondie got his redemption on his last episode, kind of.

I honestly think it’s no ones fault, they’re fireman and they were trying to there job, and it also shows that sometimes competition isn’t the best thing....

6:18 I don't understand that. I'm from Germany fire Department and in the case of emergancy, we are allowed to drive at red light. With bluelight and siren. Is it in America not like that or why is the traffic light color important for the Chief?

At 1:04 you can clearly see a green light

Don’t know the conclusion of the episode but if they lost sight of the other truck and next second it’s plowing into them, the other truck must have sped up quite a bit to get there that fast

Rear Vision mirror says yellow, when the truck flipped it said red. Yellow means he should have slowed if he had to pay attention to the lights, but he also had his sirens on and was going at a higher speed than the speed limit...so if he slowed it would have caused more problems as, if the light was red, he would not have been able to slow in time to stop. The road he was on was clear and it was yellow when he crossed the line. The other truck, must have had a red light turning green. It would have still been red when they crossed the line, however they had sirens so that does not apply to them. They did, however, deviate from the path they were taking prior right into what they knew was oncoming traffic at high speed. Essentially at 90 degrees... of course they were going to collide. The issue was communication, they did not tell each other which paths they were going to take. The driver of 66 turned and headed full speed into oncoming traffic. He may have thought he had enough time, but he didn't. The driver of 81 didn't know where they other truck went and thought they maybe got stuck in traffic. Both drivers did not pay attention to the lights. In conclusion, it is no ones fault. It was an accident involving poor communication.

Because I haven’t watched the whole thing this clip got me in tears mate. Especially when I was that man with his leg bone sticking out 😬

66 was the one that crashed into them, when 81 flipped over, you could see it was red light, but i could see the traffic light on all 81's side, since.. well.. it crashing into the light Edit- Observing now, 81's side just became red then turned green, so it must of been on orange, and he was right it was either on green or orange and now red, since orange is the quickest to turn out of all 3, it turned red when it crashed, and for 66's side, it was mostly gonna be the colour green

Btw everyone turned out fine in the end mouth regains his vision in the eye

Watch the vid at .75 playback speed and rewind to the very beginning. You can clearly see the traffic light turn green to yellow. So how the hell was this Cruz’s fault when Engine 66 had no sirens, hit a red light and was going faster than sound to stop them from attending to a serious emergency?

base on Both vehicle share the same level of priority (being fire-engines) 1) @0:55, Cruz's was red while his truck flip, so I suppose he was running a light at the last second (from "yellow to red") 2) @0:50, I suppose Welsh's was speeding for running through his light from "yellow to green" but still being a red light 3) @0:50, the reflection from the left-side-mirror of Cruz's truck was "yellow", I suppose the intersection Cruz was in was also "yellow", so Welsh's light would impossible to be green, could barely a "yellow", or even a "red".
