Exclusive interview with H.E Estifanos Habtemariam
On the occasion of the Coptic Easter and the Moslem fast of Ramadan, H.E Estifanos Habtemariam, Eritrea’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland gave an exclusive interview with Embassy Media.
In the interview the Ambassador touched upon the global Corona pandemic and its impact. Thanked all those that have contributed towards the EritreafightsCoVID19 fund-raising campaign and stressed that despite just over 320,000 £ being contributed so far, that there was till some way to go. He thanked the Eritrean community for coming together in this challenging time, setting aside any difference they might have had. In particular H.E Estifanos Habtemariam thanked all the professional Eritreans, who helped in the campaign to inform the general Eritrean public about the nature of the pandemic and measures to be taken against the virus to safeguard our health. The Ambassador noted the huge positive role that the Eritrean Ministry of Health was playing in this fight against the COVID-19 and urged again that all Eritreans stand behind the Ministry and give their full support.
H.E. Estifanos Habtemariam noted that the response of Eritreans in this fight against the pandemic, has shown that the unity and harmony of Eritreans is still as strong and intact as before, despite the ill wishes of the enemies of Eritrea. Who had expected to use the viral pandemic to further their ill agendas and sow discord amongst Eritrea, rather than make a positive contribution towards the safeguarding of the nation.
The coming together of Eritreans to stand against this natural calamity has once again proven that Eritreans are, one people and children of one country.
