Good money saving tips. ..you can also use layers of felt instead of newspapers and if you want to flatten out an area..a brayer is useful. .There are good cheap ones ..
Lovely video, very well explained. I use aluminium pie plates/baking tins to emboss onto! I did try cans, but they were too hard for me to manipulate. You can buy rolls of the proper stuff, but very expensive! :)
Thanks Jax. Your comments are appreciated. Yes aluminium pie plates look pretty perfect too. You can buy rolls of the 'proper stuff' online as you say, but I found that (for me at least) the surface of the cans was smoothest and so least likely to go all the way through, no matter how hard I accidentally pushed. I use foamy for mine Thank you for your vid it's very well done. I took a few classes 20 yrs ago at the local city center but, I moved and I didn't finish my work, the material I used was softer and came in a roll. I'm going to try your way and make a sign for another project :) I still have all of my tools.
