Honestly great advice. RU-vid recommended this video at lunch time during a particularly stressful workday. It was a perspective I needed today. Learning to keep my joy even when others try to take it away.
Shocked to hear that you're 75. Your spirit, attitude, and looks say different. And yes you're right, it takes hundreds of video uploads for one to catch fire and bring light to the others like this video. Keep at it.
I will be 69 in a couple of weeks. I can hear what you say because I think I can see what you are referring to. Being retired, though, I seldom see into your world. At this point I really have no clear ideas on how to help. Honestly, the world may have changed so much that whatever "wisdom" I have could be as obsolete as the party-line telephone system I grew up with. The other thing is I am autistic and that can make it very difficult to communicate in person so, for instance, I am very much hesitating about attending a Mens Group I stumbled across recently.. Anyway, I'm going to see where Paul goes with his musings so see you again?
@@kaoskronostyche9939 I hear you right now, today. We're communicating and you're doing a great job! Maybe you don't decide the value of your wisdom, just give it freely and let those who need it find it.
Quoting my mentor "doing less and less of what is unnecessary, unhelpful, meaningful and engaging" is the way to go, so go, go, go, yay! You're as young as you feel. Blessings ❤
I've been checking out some stoicism vids and besides being about "his" and "him" becoming the best "man", they chafe me like stiff underwear. Instead of complaining, I should just say I like your approach. It's a long hike up Mount Olympus lol
"Embrace the suck" comes from Army training. Not from budhism. The Army separates the complainers from the warriors. Some people in the Army stay as whiners.
I have to ask. Let's say you'fe instantly 30yrs old again. HOW would you make your life better if you had all your current knowledge. NOW, don't cop out. Don't do the "I would love more..." we'd ALL do that. Go deeper. I hope that didn't sound snippy. Lol I have Asperger's and I'm on a quest for KNOWLEDGE. And people older than me, tend to have MORE knowledge. So when you begin to really think about your answer, factor in your health and strenght... still flowing with testosterone. STILL in the conquer mindset. So given those boundries, what would you do different? ... right this second.
I'm not copping out but I was serious, in my intro. I wouldn't change a thing. If you haven't watched it, please do. Whatever life a person chooses to live, I think it's more about attitude than activity.
